The spacious resort consists of 2 interconnected building wings, each housing 150 comfortable rooms facing the sea. The coherent overall concept includes a large lobby with a bar, one buffet restaurant, and three specialty restaurants ("KOI", "Casa das Espetadas", and "Mamma Mia"), a kids' club, and the 2,200 m² "Thalasso Sea Spa". The reception is located on the 4th floor of the hotel. Wi-Fi is included throughout the hotel. A highlight of the resort is a glass-enclosed panoramic elevator that leads down to the 3 saltwater swimming pools and 1 children's pool, including a sun terrace (here you will also find the "Sabor a Mar" restaurant with light meals and snacks for lunch). Sun loungers, cushions, and parasols are included. Two bathing jetties provide direct access to the sea.

The double rooms with side sea view or garden view are generously designed with approx. 39 m² and include a bathroom with tub/shower and WC, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer, cable TV, air conditioning, telephone, Wi-Fi (included), mini-fridge, electric kettle, safe (included), balcony, and are located on the lower floors facing the garden/sea (2MG). Also bookable as a double room for single use (1MG).

Double room sea view

Equipped like the double rooms with side sea view or garden view, but with a direct sea view (floors 3-5) (DM). Also available as a type O room (DMO) at a special price and with limited availability. Also bookable as a double room for single use (DEM).

Equipped like the double rooms with side sea view or garden view, but with a direct sea view and located on the 6th-8th floor (DMU). Also bookable for single use (DME).

Double room Premium sea view

The double rooms Premium sea view have more modern furnishings, are approx. 39 m², are located on the 9th-10th floor, and offer, in addition to a direct sea view, daily free entry to the otherwise chargeable 2,200 m² Thalasso Spa (excluding treatments) as well as fresh fruit upon arrival in the room, daily 1 bottle of mineral water, and tea and coffee making facilities (2PM). Otherwise, the same equipment as the double rooms with sea view. Also bookable as a double room Premium sea view for single use (1PM). Also bookable as a type O room (PMO) at a special price and with limited availability.

Family room

The family rooms consist of 2 double rooms with a connecting door. They are located on the first two floors and have the same equipment as the double rooms with side sea view or garden view, but in double quantity (2 bathrooms, 4 beds, etc.). This room type must be occupied by at least 4 people. Maximum occupancy is 4 adults and 2 children (up to 11 years) (DF2). Bookable for winter 25 and summer 26.

Premium Family room

The premium family rooms are located above the regular family rooms and consist of 2 separate bedrooms and a bathroom. One bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed and a balcony with sea view; the 2nd bedroom has separate beds and offers a land/panoramic view (PF2).

Suite

The suites have the same equipment as the double rooms, are generously cut with approx. 51 m², and feature a living room (with balcony and sea view) and a separate bedroom (with door; window facing the land side) (S2M).

Romantic Rooms

The Romantic Rooms include a romantic comfort package and are aimed at couples in love. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with strawberries and sparkling wine, as well as rose petals on the bed. A joint partner massage in the renowned spa area and a pre-packed picnic basket for a romantic excursion for two are also part of the package (no longer included from summer 26). Valentine's Day Special: For arrivals from 8.2.-13.2., our guests receive the romantic package at no extra charge. (EDV-Code: FNC234P)

Premier Junior Suite Sea View

Guests in the Premier Junior Suites Sea View receive the VIDAMAR Club Level experience: a private check-in service, complimentary soft drinks in the fridge upon arrival, a personal assistant, evening turn-down service and pillow menu, a Dine-Around Premium (reserved seat), as well as unlimited entry to the Thalasso Spa. The completely renovated Premium Junior Suites are located on the 1st to 3rd floor in Tower 1, are exclusively bookable for adults, and the direct sea view is reserved for Schauinsland-Reisen guests. The Premier Junior Suites feature a comfortable living area, smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable lounge furniture, fridge, safe, coffee and tea-making facilities, and a spacious terrace or balcony with sea view, which may be partially obstructed by plants. The sleeping area includes a double bed or two single beds and a vanity. The bathrooms are equipped with eco-friendly amenities, a double vanity, a walk-in shower, WC, and a bidet (B2J). VIDA Junior Suite Garden View

The new VIDA Junior Suites with garden view are located on the 1st to 3rd floor in Tower 1. They feature a comfortable living area, smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable lounge furniture, fridge, safe, coffee and tea-making facilities, bathrobes and slippers, hairdryer, as well as a spacious terrace or balcony. The sleeping area includes a double bed or two single beds and a vanity. The bathrooms are equipped with eco-friendly amenities, a double vanity, a walk-in shower, WC, and a bidet (JGB).

Rich breakfast buffet. Evening Dine-Around: Take advantage of the hotel's "Dine-Around" concept (excluding drinks) and dine in the evening within the framework of half board in the main restaurant "Ocean-Buffet" with varied international cuisine, or also in the Italian restaurant "Mamma Mia by Giovanni", the sushi restaurant "KOI", or the traditional "Casa das Espetadas" restaurant. There, you can choose from the à la carte menu (a credit of €15 per person is applied to the final bill). Free registration at the hotel reception (24 hours in advance) is required; you may visit each of the restaurants a maximum of 1x per stay week.

Zusatzhinweis

Star tour excursion program (subject to change/daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the hill of Pico dos Barcelos, you can overlook the bay of Funchal and continue to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down to the bottom of an extinct volcano. At the very bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns Valley). Continue to Monte, where you visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride in the traditional wicker sledges. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – black scabbard fish – is caught). Continue over the Cabo Girão (at 580m the highest cliff in Europe), and then the path leads us along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta do Sol, it goes upwards to the plateau of Pául da Serra (1400m). Finally, it goes downhill to Porto Moniz to the natural seawater pools. The lunch break is taken here. The return trip is via the north coast and leads via Seixal to São Vicente. From there it goes upwards over the pass Encumeada (1007m), where you can see the north and south coast at the same time. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure to the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). Then it goes downhill to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of the laurel forest (Laurisilva) of Madeira, which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The journey continues to Santana, which is famous for its thatched houses. The lunch break is taken here. Afterwards, you go to Pico do Facho. Afterwards, return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and last excursion takes us after an approx. 1.5-hour Levada hike (difficulty: easy) to the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its around 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and tour included).
