The generously designed resort consists of two interconnected buildings, each housing 150 comfortable, ocean-facing rooms. The coherent overall concept includes a spacious lobby with a bar, one buffet restaurant and three specialty restaurants ("KOI", "Casa das Estetadas", and "Mamma Mia"), a kids' club, and the 2,200 m² "Thalasso Sea Spa". The reception is located on the 4th floor of the hotel. Wi-Fi is included throughout the hotel. A highlight of the resort is the glass-walled panoramic lift that leads down to the three saltwater swimming pools and one children's pool, complete with a sun terrace (where you will also find the "Sabor a Mar" restaurant serving light meals and snacks for lunch). Sun loungers, cushions, and parasols are included. Two bathing piers provide direct access to the sea.

Double room, side sea view or garden view

The double rooms with side sea or garden view are generously designed (approx. 39 m²) and equipped with bath/shower and WC, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer, cable TV, air conditioning, telephone, Wi-Fi (included), mini-fridge, kettle, safe (included), balcony, and are located on the lower floors facing the garden/sea (2MG). Also bookable as a double room for single use (1MG).

Double room, sea view

Equipped the same as the double rooms with side sea or garden view, but with direct sea view (floors 3-5) (DM). Also available as a type O room (DMO) at a special price and with limited availability. Also bookable as a double room for single use (DEM).

Double room Superior, sea view

Equipped the same as the double rooms with side sea or garden view, but with direct sea view and located on floors 6-8 (DMU). Also bookable for single use (DME).

Double room Premium, sea view

The double rooms Premium sea view are more modernly furnished, approx. 39 m² in size, located on floors 9-10, and offer, in addition to direct sea view, free daily admission to the otherwise chargeable 2,200 m² Thalasso Spa (treatments not included) as well as fresh fruit upon arrival in the room and daily 1 bottle of mineral water, tea and coffee making facilities (2PM). Otherwise the same equipment as the double rooms with sea view. Also bookable as a double room Premium sea view for single use (1PM). Also bookable as a type O room (PMO) at a special price and with limited availability.

Family room

The family rooms consist of 2 double rooms with a connecting door. They are located on the first two floors and have the same equipment as the double rooms with side sea or garden view, but in duplicate (2 bathrooms, 4 beds, etc.). This room type must be occupied by at least 4 people. The maximum occupancy is 4 adults and 2 children (up to 11 years) (DF2) bookable for Winter 25 and Summer 26.

Premium family room

The premium family rooms are located above the regular family rooms and consist of 2 separate bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed and a balcony with sea view; the 2nd bedroom features separate beds and offers land/panoramic views (PF2).

Suite

The suites have the same equipment as the double rooms, are generously sized at approx. 51 m², and feature a living room (with balcony and sea view) and a separate bedroom (with door; window facing the land side) (S2M).

Romantic Rooms (bookable until end of Winter 26/27)

The Romantic Rooms include a romantic pampering package and are aimed at couples. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with strawberries and sparkling wine as well as rose petals on the bed. A joint couple's massage in the renowned spa area and a pre-packed picnic basket for a romantic outing for two are also part of the package (no longer included from Summer 26). Valentine's Day Special: For arrivals from 8.2.-13.2., our guests receive the romantic package at no extra charge. (EDV-Code: FNC234P)

Premier Junior Suite, sea view

Guests in the Premier Junior Suites with sea view receive the VIDAMAR Club Level experience: A private check-in service, complimentary soft drinks in the fridge upon arrival, a personal assistant, evening turn-down service, pillow selection, a Dine-Around Premium (reserved seat), and unlimited access to the Thalasso Spa. The completely renovated Premium Junior Suites are located on floors 1 to 3 in Tower 1, are exclusively for adults, and the direct sea view is reserved for schauinsland-reisen guests. The Premier Junior Suites feature a comfortable living area, Smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable lounge furniture, fridge, safe, coffee and tea making facilities, and a spacious terrace or balcony with sea view, which may be partially obstructed by plants. The sleeping area includes a double or two single beds and a vanity table. The bathrooms are equipped with amenities, a double vanity, a walk-in shower, WC, and a bidet (B2J). Also bookable as a type O room (JMA).

VIDA Junior Suite, garden view

The new VIDA Junior Suites with garden view are located on floors 1 to 3 in Tower 1. They feature a comfortable living area, Smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable lounge furniture, fridge, safe, coffee and tea making facilities, bathrobes and slippers, hairdryer, as well as a spacious terrace or balcony. The sleeping area includes a double or two single beds and a vanity table. The bathrooms are equipped with amenities, a double vanity, a walk-in shower, WC, and a bidet (JGB).

Rich breakfast buffet. Evening Dine-around: Take advantage of the hotel's "Dine-Around" concept (drinks excluded) and dine in the evening as part of half-board, not only in the main "Ocean-Buffet" restaurant with its varied international cuisine, but also in the Italian restaurant "Mamma Mia by Giovanni", the sushi restaurant "KOI", or the traditional "Casa das Espetadas" restaurant. There you can choose from the à la carte menu (a credit of €15 per person will be deducted from the final bill). Free reservation at the hotel reception (24 hours in advance) is required; you may visit each of the restaurants max. 1x per week of stay.

Destination information

Star Tour Excursion Program (Subject to change/Daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the heights of Pico dos Barcelos, you can overlook the bay of Funchal, and the journey continues to Eira do Serrado, where you can look down to the floor of an extinct volcano. Far below lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Valley of the Nuns). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to take a ride in the traditional wicker sleds (not included in the price).
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – black scabbard fish – is caught). Continue over Cabo Girão (at 580m, the highest cliff in Europe), and then the path takes us along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta do Sol, we go uphill to the Paul da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, we go downhill to Porto Moniz to the natural seawater swimming pools. The lunch break is taken here. The return journey is via the north coast and leads through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, we go uphill over the Encumeada pass (1007m), where you can see the north and south coasts simultaneously. Afterward, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). The route then goes downhill to Ribeiro Frio. Here you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The tour continues to Santana, famous for its thatched houses. Lunch break is taken here. Afterward, we go to Pico do Facho. Finally, return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion takes us after an approx. 1.5-hour levada hike (difficulty level: easy) to the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its approximately 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
