The spacious resort consists of 2 connected buildings, each housing 150 comfortable rooms facing the sea. The coherent overall concept includes a spacious lobby with a bar, one buffet restaurant, and three specialty restaurants ("KOI", "Casa das Espetadas", and "Mamma Mia"), a kids' club, and the 2,200 m² "Thalasso Sea Spa". The reception is located on the 4th floor of the hotel. Wi-Fi is included throughout the hotel. A highlight of the resort is a glass-paneled panoramic elevator leading down to the 3 seawater swimming pools and 1 children's pool, complete with a sun terrace (where you will also find the "Sabor a Mar" restaurant, offering light meals and snacks for lunch). Sun loungers, cushions, and parasols are included. Access to the sea is provided directly via two bathing jetties.

Double room side sea view or garden view

The double rooms with side sea view or garden view are generously designed (approx. 39 m²) and equipped with bath/shower and WC, bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer, cable TV, air conditioning, telephone, Wi-Fi (included), mini-fridge, electric kettle, safe (incl.), balcony, and are located on the lower floors facing the garden/sea side (2MG). Also bookable as a double room for single use (1MG).

Double room sea view

Equipped like the double rooms with side sea view or garden view, but with direct sea view (floors 3-5) (DM). Also bookable as a Type O room (DMO) at a special price with limited availability. Also bookable as a double room for single use (DEM).

Double room Superior sea view

Equipped like the double rooms with side sea view or garden view, but with direct sea view and located on floors 6-8 (DMU). Also bookable for single use (DME). Additionally bookable as a Double room Superior sea view Type O, at a special price and with limited availability (UMO).

Double room Premium sea view

The Premium sea view double rooms are more modernly furnished, approx. 39 m², located on floors 9-10, and, in addition to a direct sea view, offer free daily access to the 2200 m² Thalasso Spa (usually at an extra charge, excluding treatments), as well as fresh fruit upon arrival in the room, daily 1 bottle of mineral water, and tea/coffee making facilities (2PM). Otherwise, same equipment as the double rooms with sea view. Also bookable as a double room Premium sea view for single use (1PM). Also bookable as a Type O room (PMO) at a special price with limited availability.

Family room

The family rooms consist of 2 double rooms with a connecting door. They are located on the first two floors and feature the same equipment as the double rooms with side sea view or garden view, but in double (2 bathrooms, 4 beds, etc.). This room type must be occupied by at least 4 people. Maximum occupancy is 4 adults and 2 children (up to 11 years) (DF2), bookable for Winter 25 and Summer 26.

Premium Family room

The Premium family rooms are located above the standard family rooms and consist of 2 separate bedrooms and one bathroom. One bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed and a balcony with sea view; the 2nd bedroom features separate beds and offers land/panoramic views (PF2).

Suite

The suites have the same equipment as the double rooms, are generously sized at approx. 51 m², and feature a living room (with balcony and sea view) and a separate bedroom (with door; window facing the land side) (S2M).

Romantic Rooms (bookable until the end of Winter 26/27)

The Romantic Rooms include a romantic wellness package and are aimed at couples. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with strawberries and sparkling wine, as well as rose petals on the bed. A joint couple's massage in the renowned spa area and a pre-packed picnic basket for a romantic outing for two are also part of the package (no longer included from Summer 26). Valentine's Day Special: For arrivals from 8.2 to 13.2, our guests receive the romantic package at no extra charge. (EDV code: FNC234P)

Premier Junior Suite sea view

Guests in the Premier Junior Suites with sea view receive the VIDAMAR Club Level experience: A private check-in service, complimentary soft drinks in the fridge upon arrival, a personal assistant, evening turn-down service and pillow menu, a "Dine-Around Premium" (reserved seating), as well as unlimited access to the Thalasso Spa. The completely renovated Premium Junior Suites are located on floors 1-3 in Tower 1, are exclusively bookable for adults, and the direct sea view is reserved for Schauinsland-Reisen guests. The Premier Junior Suites feature a comfortable living area, smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable lounge furniture, fridge, safe, tea and coffee making facilities, as well as a spacious terrace or balcony with sea view, which may be partially obstructed by plants. The sleeping area includes a double bed or two single beds and a vanity. Bathrooms are equipped with eco-friendly amenities, a double vanity, walk-in shower, WC, and a bidet (B2J). Also bookable as a Type O room (JMA).

VIDA Junior Suite garden view

The new VIDA Junior Suites with garden view are located on floors 1-3 in Tower 1. They feature a comfortable living area, smart TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable lounge furniture, fridge, safe, tea and coffee making facilities, bathrobes and slippers, hairdryer, as well as a spacious terrace or balcony. The sleeping area includes a double bed or two single beds and a vanity. Bathrooms are equipped with eco-friendly amenities, a double vanity, walk-in shower, WC, and a bidet (JGB).

HB

Rich breakfast buffet. In the evening, "Dine around": Utilize the hotel's "Dine-Around" concept (excl. drinks) and dine in the evening as part of your half-board, not only at the main "Ocean-Buffet" restaurant, which serves varied international cuisine, but also at the Italian restaurant "Mamma Mia by Giovanni", the sushi restaurant "KOI", or the traditional "Casa das Espetadas" restaurant. There, you can choose from the à-la-carte menu (a credit of €15 per person is applied to the final bill). Free registration at the hotel reception (24 hours in advance) is required; you may visit each of the restaurants a maximum of 1x per week of stay.

Zusatzhinweis

"Sternfahrt" excursion program (subject to change/daily arrival possible):
Eira do Serrado/Monte (Monday/Thursday): Discover the most beautiful panoramas of Madeira on this half-day tour. From the Pico dos Barcelos vantage point, you overlook the bay of Funchal, and the tour continues to Eira do Serrado, from where you can look down to the floor of an extinct volcano. At the bottom lies the village of Curral das Freiras (Nuns' Valley). Continue to Monte, where you will visit the church of Nossa Senhora do Monte. On the way back, you have the opportunity to ride the traditional wicker toboggans. (Not included in the price)
Porto Moniz (Wednesday/Friday): Departure towards Câmara de Lobos (fishing village where the famous Espada – black scabbardfish – is caught). We continue via Cabo Girão (Europe's highest sea cliff at 580m), and then the path leads us along the coast to Ribeira Brava. From Ponta do Sol, we ascend to the Pául da Serra plateau (1400m). Finally, we head downhill to Porto Moniz to the natural seawater swimming pools. This is where the lunch break is taken. The return journey is via the north coast and leads through Seixal to São Vicente. From there, we go upwards via the Encumeada Pass (1007m), where you can see the north and south coasts simultaneously. Afterward, return to Funchal.
Santana (Tuesday/Saturday): Departure into the mountains via Poiso towards Pico do Arieiro (1810m). Then we go downhill to Ribeiro Frio. Here, you are in the middle of Madeira's laurel forest (Laurisilva), which has been declared a World Heritage Site. The trip continues to Santana, known for its thatched-roof houses. Here, the lunch break is taken. Afterward, we go to Pico do Facho. Finally, return to Funchal.
Levada and Botanical Garden (Monday/Wednesday): The 4th and final excursion leads us, after an approx. 1.5-hour Levada hike (difficulty: easy), to the Botanical Garden, which is famous for its approximately 3,000 different plant species (entrance fee and guided tour included).
