The Adults Only Hotel PortoBay Santa Maria is located in the heart of Funchal's historic city center, near the "Rua de Santa Maria" and the impressive "Forte Sao Tiago" fortress. It is approximately 15 km from Funchal Airport.

This 4-star hotel features 146 rooms, a reception, a library, a reading room, a terrace with a fantastic view over the harbor of Funchal, an "Arsenal" buffet/à la carte restaurant, two bars, and direct access to the promenade. The rooftop terrace with a whirlpool invites you to relax. In the outdoor area, there is a freshwater pool (sun loungers, pads, and parasols by the pool included).

Studio

The studios (approx. 24 m²) consist of a combined living/sleeping area, bathroom/WC, hairdryer, vanity mirror, bathrobe, safe (included), Smart TV, telephone, kitchenette, air conditioning, and balcony (S12). Available for single use at an extra charge (S11).
From summer 2025, also available as Studio type O with limited availability at a special price (STO).
(Additionally bookable under FNCA53 with D/DE/DR, with partial sea view (DMS/DES/DRS) or sea view (DM/DEM/DRM).)

Studio partial sea view

Equipped like the studios, additionally with partial sea view (M2S/M1S for single use).
Also bookable as Studio partial sea view type O with limited availability at a special price (MSO) or as a studio with direct sea view (SM2). From summer 2025 also available as Studio sea view type O with limited availability at a special price (SOM).

Junior suite

Equipped like the studios, the junior suites are significantly larger at 40 m² and feature a separate sleeping area, which is separated by a sliding door (JS2).

Double room Superior sea view (FNCA53)

The superior rooms (approx. 24 m²) with balcony or terrace feature one double bed or two single beds and are equipped with Wi-Fi, safe (included), Smart TV, telephone, refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities, bathrobes and slippers, bathroom/shower, WC with Rituals toiletries (DMU).
Also bookable for 3 adults (MSA) or for single use (EMU).

Meals

BB/HB

Breakfast and dinner in buffet form.
On some evenings, guests are offered a 3-course menu for dinner.
From January 2026, dinner will be served as a menu.
