Location

Built in 1834, the Quinta Bela São Tiago is situated in a quiet location on the edge of the beautiful old town of Funchal, surrounded by 5,700 square meters of land. The incomparable view from the terrace over the Atlantic Ocean, the bay of Funchal, and the surrounding mountains makes the Quinta truly special. The picturesque streets of the old town, with their cafés, bars, restaurants, and many beautiful walking paths and viewpoints, can be reached on foot in just a few minutes. Fort São Tiago and its exhibition center are also in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The bus stop, the Monte cable car station, and Funchal's old market hall are also just a few minutes' walk away. Several interesting museums, historic buildings, the city theater, cinemas, parks, and gardens complement Funchal's diverse cultural offerings.

The former manor house has been restored with great care and attention to detail. The hotel has 64 rooms spread over 3 floors, a lift, and an outdoor freshwater pool with panoramic views. Furthermore, Wi-Fi, a sauna, a hot tub, a steam bath, and a gym are available. The "O Pórtico" restaurant is located in the old part of the house, in the former dining room, and offers a comfortable and cozy atmosphere with regional and international specialties. An extensive breakfast buffet awaits guests in the conservatory, where they can watch the sunrise over the city of Funchal.

Double Room Premium Sea View

The Double Room Premium Sea View rooms are equipped like the double rooms with sea view (with balcony) but are located on the top floor. The following additional services are provided: coffee machine (Dolce Gusto) with 2 free capsules (only on arrival), bathrobes, slippers, a bottle of water, a bottle of Madeira wine, and a honey cake (2PM). Also bookable as Double Room Premium Type I with half-board meal plan (PMI). Bookable in Summer 2026.

Junior Suite Sea View

The Junior Suites Sea View have the same facilities as the double rooms, but with an additional open-plan living area and a balcony with sea views (J2M).

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC): Please also note the seasonal information!
From the airport, take the highway towards Funchal and exit at "Campo da Barca/Funchal" and follow the road towards Campo da Barca/Funchal. Continue down the road to Funchal. As soon as you see a fire station on the right side, turn left (left lane). Follow the road until you see the Anadia Shopping Center on your right. Turn left towards "Mercado dos Lavradores". Take the left lane here and drive to a roundabout (statue in the middle). Exit the roundabout at the 1st exit (to the right) and immediately turn left again and drive up "Rua Bela Sao Tiago". You will find your hotel on the right side.
