Arrival by car

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
From the airport, take the Via Rapida (highway) west towards Funchal. The drive to the Funchal exit (No. 12) takes about 15-20 minutes. At this exit, take the exit towards Funchal. At the first traffic light after the exit, turn left, and at the very next traffic light, go straight. You will pass a wide right turn while continuing downhill, then go straight. After a while, you will pass a gas station (on the right). You will then reach the fire department (Bombeiros) on the right side. At the second traffic light intersection after the Bombeiros, turn right onto Rua Joao de Deus. After about 100 meters, the Hotel do Carmo is on your left.
