Arrival by car

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
Drive from the airport onto the Via Rapida (expressway) heading west towards Funchal. It takes approx. 15-20 min to reach the Funchal exit (No. 12). Take this exit towards Funchal. At the 1st traffic light after the exit, turn left, and at the very next traffic light, go straight on. Continue driving downhill through a wide right-hand bend, then continue straight. After a while, you will pass a petrol station (on the right). You will then reach the Bombeiros fire station (on the right-hand side). At the 2nd traffic light junction after the fire station, turn right into Rua Joao de Deus. After approx. 100 m, the Hotel do Carmo is on the left-hand side.
