This family-run country hotel is situated above Calheta in a quiet hillside location with a dreamlike view of the Atlantic. Restaurants and shopping facilities are located approx. 1 km away in the district of Estreito. The centre of Calheta, the sandy beach and the seawater swimming pool can be reached in approx. 3 km. The airport is approx. 50 km away.

Facilities

The two-storey Quinta, managed by German hosts, was built in the style of a manor house and features a total of 29 rooms. The property offers an entrance hall with reception and fireplace corner, Wi-Fi (included in rooms and lobby), bar/cafeteria, restaurant, and a TV, reading and games room. In the well-kept garden area, there is a heated saltwater swimming pool with a sun terrace. Sun loungers, parasols and pool towels are available free of charge at the pool.

Arrival by car

Directions from Funchal Airport (FNC):
Please take the motorway from the airport towards Funchal. Stay on the motorway until it ends at Ribeira Brava. Continue heading west through many tunnels and along the coast. Follow the road signs.
You will pass Ribeira Brava on the left-hand side and at the roundabout, drive towards Ponta do Sol. In Madalena do Mar, drive a few hundred metres along the sea; you will pass through 2 tunnels. At the next roundabout, please drive towards “Calheta, Prazeres”, and at the following roundabout, continue towards “Prazeres”. Shortly after leaving the second tunnel, turn right towards “Estreito da Calheta”. (Caution: this exit is located in a right-hand bend and is therefore not yet visible from the end of the tunnel.) At the end of this exit (stop sign), please turn left and drive underneath the motorway. At the next intersection (stop sign), turn left again, parallel to the motorway. Now follow the signs for Quinta Alegre, first to the right, then steeply uphill to the left.
