The Pestana Dom Joao II Beach & Golf Resort is located directly on the light sandy beach „Praia de Alvor“ and was renovated in 2019/2020. The town center is only approx. 1.5 km away. Further shopping and entertainment options can be found in the port city of Portimao, about 7 km away. Faro International Airport is approx. 70 km away.

The spacious 4-star holiday complex has 257 rooms. Facilities include a reception area with a 24-hour reception, lounge bar, elevators, buffet restaurant with terrace, bar, conference room, and hairdresser. The complex is surrounded by a well-kept garden with a seawater swimming pool, children's pool, and sun terrace. Sunbeds, umbrellas, and mattresses are included. The Deluxe Double Rooms are approx. 14 m² in size, modern and attractively furnished with an open bathroom/WC (Note: the bathrooms have a window with blinds to the sleeping area), hairdryer, telephone, cable TV (LCD TV), safe, minibar (unstocked), air conditioning and some with a balcony (DD2).
Also available as a Deluxe Double Room with side sea view (with balcony, DDS), Deluxe Double Room Sea View (with balcony, DDM) and can be booked for single occupancy at an additional charge (DD1/EDD/1DM).

Deluxe Double Room Superior Sea View

The Deluxe Double Rooms Superior Sea View (approx. 14 m²) are equipped like the Deluxe Double Rooms. However, they are located on the upper floors (3rd-5th) and have two single beds and a balcony with a sea view (2DQ).

Suite

The suites are approx. 25 m² in size, equipped like the Deluxe Double Rooms, have a living area and a bedroom with a double bed and a balcony with a garden view (S2).

Arrival by car

Directions from Faro Airport (FAO):
Follow the road west for approx. 140 m. After approx. 750 m, turn left onto the N125-10. In the next roundabout, take the second exit towards N125-10. After approx. 600 m, the road leads you right onto the ramp to „Loulé/Lisbon/Portimao“. You are now on the IC4. At the upcoming fork, keep left and stay on this road (IC4). After about 56 km, merge onto the A22 via the ramp towards „Lisbon/Portimão/Albufeira“. Take exit 4 towards EM531-1 and continue on the A22 Acessos. In the next roundabout, take the second exit towards EM531-1 towards „Estr. ontes de Alvor“. You are still on the A22 and continue driving towards EM531-1/Estr. Montes de Alvor. You will then reach „Rua Serpa Pinto“. In Alvor, drive into a roundabout and take the 1st exit towards „Rossio Grande“. After approx. 450 m, turn right, after 170 m turn left, and now 80 m turn left again. After a slight left turn, you have reached the hotel.
Directions from Lisbon Airport (LIS):
Follow the road northeast for approx. 14 m. Turn right onto „Avenue Berlim“. After approx. 62 m, turn left and stay on „Avenue Berlim“. You will reach a roundabout and turn left there onto „Avenida Cidade do Porto“ (signposted A1/A8/A12). Exit onto E01 and re-enter via exit 14 towards „A12/Sul/Ponte Vasco da Gama“. This runs parallel to the IC17. From here, continue to the A12 (toll road in part). Leave the motorway at IP1 (signs for Évora) and merge onto A2 again. After approx. 202 km, take exit 15 to reach the A22 towards „Lagos/Portimão/Albufeira“. After another 34 km, take exit 4 towards EM531-1 and get onto A22 Acessos. In the next roundabout, take the second exit towards EM531-1 towards „Estr. ontes de Alvor“. You are still on the A22 and continue driving towards EM531-1/Estr. Montes de Alvor. You will then reach „Rua Serpa Pinto“. In Alvor, drive into a roundabout and take the 1st exit towards „Rossio Grande“. After approx. 450 m, turn right, after 170 m turn left, and now 80 m turn left again. After a slight left turn, you have reached the hotel.
