Location

Das Falkenstein enjoys a quiet location in a natural setting, approximately 1.7 km from the center of Kaprun. During the winter months, the region is a true paradise for skiers and snow enthusiasts. A ski bus stops nearby (approx. 30 m away) and takes guests to the nearest ski areas. A ski school with ski rental is located about 1 km away. Various gondola lifts and mountain lifts are also ideal for immersing yourself in winter fun: Lechnerberglift (approx. 1.2 km), Maiskogelbahn with connection to the cable car with direct access to the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier (approx. 2.2 km), or the Areitbahn cable car (approx. 5 km).

The very modern 4-star Hotel Das Falkenstein is a family-run hotel with a total of 40 stylish rooms that blend alpine tradition with contemporary design in a rustic form. In addition to a welcoming reception, there is the restaurant "Federspiel" and a trendy lobby with a lifestyle bar, furnished with great attention to detail. You can use free Wi-Fi at any time to stay connected. A spacious wellness area of approx. 1,000m² ensures relaxing moments after an active day, bringing body and soul back into harmony. Families will also get their money's worth here, as there are play and leisure facilities for the little guests and young teens.

Double Room Comfort

The "Mansarde" type double room without a balcony is ideal for 2 people and is equipped with a box-spring mattress bed (1.40m wide), shower/WC, sofa or corner bench, flat-screen TV, safe (incl.), bath bag with rental bathrobe (incl.), telephone, and Wi-Fi (incl.) in the attic room (approx. 20m², DKO).

Double Room Superior

The slightly more spacious Superior rooms have a balcony, a double bed or separate twin beds, and an additional sofa bed. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, and there is a separate WC. A bath bag with rental bathrobe for adults and children, flat-screen TV, telephone, safe, and Wi-Fi are included (approx. 26m², DSU).

Studio "Wolke 7"

The open-plan "Wolke 7" studio features a comfortable king-size bed (2x2 meters), a sofa bed, an open bathroom with a shower and a separate WC, and a balcony. A bath bag with a rental bathrobe, flat-screen TV (50 inches), telephone, safe, and Wi-Fi are also available here free of charge (approx. 32m², S12). Note: Only with this room category is it possible to add a baby cot for an additional fee of €30.00 per stay.

Family Suite (Summer 2026)

The spacious family suites, approx. 40 m², either have a second level accessible via stairs, where a double bed is located, or a living/sleeping area with a double sofa bed and a double room with a double bed separated by a door. Further amenities include a bath or shower/WC, safe, telephone, TV, Wi-Fi, and a balcony (2FS).

Information

NEW from Summer 2025: For all guests staying in the Salzburg region from May 1st, 2025, there will be a new charge, the "Mobility Tax". The fee will be collected alongside the local tax per night and will be used to expand transportation. In return, all guests will receive free use of public transport at their holiday destination. The tax must be paid regardless of whether public transport is used.
- The Mobility Tax is a legally mandated charge and must be paid for all taxable overnight stays.
- From May 1, 2025: €0.50, with gradual increases, from May 1, 2027: €1.10.
