Location

The family-run Hotel Alpenhof in Filzmoos, located in the beautiful Salzburger Land, is situated at approx. 1,000 m above sea level in the quiet and sunny Neubergtal valley. This accommodation is particularly suitable for hiking holidays, as numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain tours, climbing, and mountain biking await exploration at the foot of the Bischofsmütze. The Dachstein Glacier cable car, which takes guests to the Dachstein Glacier with its impressive ice palace, is also located about 15 km away. Connections exist to Radstadt train station (approx. 19 km) as well as Salzburg Airport (SZG, approx. 72 km).

Facilities

As one of the few certified Austrian hiking hotels, the Alpenhof in Filzmoos impresses with a great in-house hiking program with qualified hiking guides employed directly by the hotel. Tours are offered daily to provide the best hiking experience for every type of hiker and to discover the beautiful natural surroundings. A total of 46 rooms and suites ensure sophisticated comfort and a high degree of quality. Upon arrival, guests can expect an inviting reception area, a lounge area, and an elevator. Warm summer days can be enjoyed on the sun terrace or in the spacious garden with a swimming pond and the heated outdoor pool with sun loungers. Speaking of enjoyment – the kitchen team conjures up typical Austrian as well as international delicacies on plates in the restaurant, ensuring there is something for every taste. For further activities, there is a mini-golf course, a children's playroom, and a fitness room. A wellness area with an indoor pool offers soothing relaxation after an active day. To stay connected even on vacation, free Wi-Fi is available to guests.

Double Room Mitterspitz

The double room "Mitterspitz", furnished in an alpine style with modern elements, features a bathroom with a shower and marble vanity, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, and a separate toilet. The room also includes a flat-screen TV with digital cable TV and integrated radio, and a telephone. In addition to the double bed, there is a sofa bed. Unfortunately, these rooms do not have a balcony (approx. 30m², D).

Double Room Dachstein

The double rooms "Dachstein", designed with color accents, are very similar in equipment and size to the Mitterspitz double rooms, but they also have a balcony as an additional feature (DA).

Suite Edelweiß

The beautiful "Edelweiß" suite, in an elegant and high-quality style, is more spacious and offers a private infrared cabin as a highlight. Otherwise, it is equipped similarly to the double rooms (approx. 36m², S2).

Single Room "Rettenstein"

The somewhat smaller single rooms with a wood look are designed for 1 to a maximum of 2 people. For sleeping, there is a single bed and a sofa bed. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and toilet (not separate), and these rooms also have a balcony (approx. 20m², E).

NEW from Summer 2025: For all guests staying in the state of Salzburg from May 1, 2025, there will be a new fee, the "Mobility Fee". The fee will be levied parallel to the local tax per overnight stay and will contribute to the expansion of transport. In return, all guests will receive free use of public transport at their holiday destination. The fee must be paid regardless of whether public transport is used.

Guests of Almcard establishments receive a voucher booklet with value cards for each day upon arrival, which can be redeemed at the alpine pastures.
