Location

The family-run Hotel Alpenhof in Filzmoos, located in the beautiful Salzburg region, is situated at an altitude of approx. 1,000 m in the quiet and sunny Neuberg valley. This accommodation is particularly suitable for hikers, as numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking and mountain tours, climbing, and mountain biking await at the foot of the Bischofsmütze mountain. The Dachstein Glacier cable car, which takes guests up to the Dachstein Glacier with its impressive ice palace, is also located approx. 15 km away. There are connections to both Radstadt train station (approx. 19 km) and Salzburg Airport (SZG, approx. 72 km).

Facilities

As one of the few certified Austrian hiking hotels, the Alpenhof in Filzmoos impresses with a fantastic in-house hiking program featuring qualified hiking guides employed directly by the hotel. Daily tours are offered to ensure the best hiking experience for every skill level and to discover the beautiful natural surroundings. A total of 46 rooms and suites provide sophisticated comfort and a high level of quality. Upon arrival, guests are welcomed by an inviting reception with a lobby area, a lounge, and a lift. Warm summer days can be perfectly enjoyed on the sun terrace or in the extensive garden area with a natural swimming pond and a heated outdoor pool with sun loungers. Speaking of enjoyment – the kitchen team conjures up typical Austrian delicacies as well as international treats, ensuring there is something for every taste. For further activities, a mini-golf course, a children's playroom, and a gym are available. The wellness area with an indoor pool offers soothing relaxation after an active day. Free Wi-Fi is available to keep guests connected during their vacation.

Accommodation

Mitterspitz Double Room

Decorated in an Alpine style with modern elements, the "Mitterspitz" double room features a bathroom with a shower and marble vanity, hairdryer, cosmetic mirror, and separate toilet. The room also includes a flat-screen TV with digital cable and integrated radio, as well as a telephone. In addition to the double bed, there is a sofa bed for extra sleeping space. These rooms do not have a balcony (approx. 30m², D).

Dachstein Double Room

Designed with colorful accents, the "Dachstein" double rooms are very similar in size and facilities to the Mitterspitz double rooms, but have the additional feature of a balcony (DA).

Edelweiß Suite

The beautiful "Edelweiß" suite in an elegant, high-quality style is more spacious and features a private infrared cabin as a highlight. Otherwise, it is similarly equipped to the double rooms (approx. 36m², S2).

"Rettenstein" Single Room

The slightly smaller single rooms in a wood look are designed for 1 to a maximum of 2 people. For sleeping, there is a single bed and a sofa bed; the bathroom is equipped with a shower and toilet (not separate), and these rooms also have a balcony (approx. 20m², E).

NEW from Summer 2025: For all guests staying in the Salzburg region from 1.5.2025, there is a new levy, the "mobility levy". The fee is collected in parallel with the local tax per overnight stay and flows into the expansion of transport. In return, all guests receive free use of public transport at the holiday destination. The levy must be paid regardless of the use of public transport.

Around 20 alpine pastures, huts, and excursion inns in Filzmoos serve guests specialties such as cheese dumpling soup, doughnuts, and Kaiserschmarrn. Guests of the Almcard establishments receive the Almcard voucher booklet upon arrival with tokens for each day that can be redeemed at the alpine huts.
