Location

The hotel is located directly on the beach (at the end of the sandy road), overlooking the Libyan Sea and away from the local village noises. The village of Plakias with its various bars, restaurants, and shops is within a 10-minute walk along the sandy road. Rethymnon, with numerous shopping and entertainment facilities, is approximately 36 km away. The distance to Chania Airport is about 96 km, and to Heraklion Airport is about 114 km.

Facilities

The Hotel Plakias Bay has a total of 28 rooms, a reception, a traditional à la carte restaurant (for lunch and dinner, for a fee), a bar open all day, safety deposit boxes for rent, luggage storage, a sun terrace, Wi-Fi (included in the entire hotel complex), and a TV lounge. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available on the beach for a fee.

The rooms were renovated for Summer 2025 and feature a bath or shower/WC, toiletries, hairdryer, slippers, 28" Smart TV, safe, ceiling fan, air conditioning, refrigerator, kettle, espresso machine, and beach towels, telephone, balcony with side or direct sea view (D).
Also available for single occupancy (DE).

Note on Climate Resilience Fee

For stays from 01.01.2018 onwards, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which is to be paid by the guest on site, similar to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of accommodation and, from 01.01.2025, will be tiered from 0.50 Euros to 15 Euros per day and room.
