Location

This comfortable Alianthos Estate Resort is located at the entrance to the charming village of Plakias on the south coast of Crete. The coastal road separates the resort from the sand/pebble beach. The center of the village is reachable in approx. 250 m, where numerous tavernas and cafés line the shore. Plakias is an ideal starting point for excursions in southern Crete, such as to the Preveli Monastery. A bus stop is located 200 m away.
The distance to Chania Airport is approx. 99 km and to Heraklion Airport approx. 116 km.

The hotel has been family-owned for four decades and was extensively renovated and expanded for summer 2026. Thanks to its fresh appearance and a new hotel wing, the property shines in elegant splendor without losing its essence of hospitality and tradition. In addition to 123 modern, comfortable rooms, it offers a lobby with 24-hour reception, a lounge area with satellite TV, a bar, and an air-conditioned restaurant. In the outdoor area of the hotel, there is an existing freshwater swimming pool as well as a new pool near the newly constructed buildings. Both are surrounded by inviting sun terraces with sun loungers and umbrellas, each with its own pool/snack bar. Wi-Fi is included in all areas of the hotel. Private parking is available free of charge. Sun loungers and umbrellas are offered by third-party providers at the nearby sand/pebble beach. From 2027, free sun loungers and umbrellas will also be available on the beach.

Essential Double Room Private Pool

Breakfast/Half board

The Amalthea Restaurant is located in the main building; here, varied buffets with a first-class selection of Greek and Mediterranean dishes as well as local products are offered.
Breakfast is served from 7:00–10:00 a.m. From 2027, this will take place from 7:30–10:30 a.m.
When booking half board, dinner is also included from 7:00–9:30 p.m.
Drinks are not included during dinner.
Vegetarian dishes are available.
Appropriate attire is requested for dinner.

Note: Climate Resilience Fee

For stays starting from 1/1/2018, the Greek government charges a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on-site, comparable to a tourist tax.
The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 EUR to 15 EUR per day and room starting from 1/1/2025.
