Location

The comfortable Alianthos Estate Resort is located at the entrance to the charming village of Plakias on the southern coast of Crete. The coastal road separates the resort from the sandy/pebbly beach. The center of the village, where numerous tavernas and cafés line the shore, is approximately 250 m away. Plakias is an ideal starting point for excursions in southern Crete, such as to the Preveli Monastery. A bus stop is located 200 m away.
The distance to Chania Airport is approx. 99 km and to Heraklion Airport approx. 116 km.

The hotel has been family-owned for four decades and was extensively renovated and expanded by summer 2026. Thanks to its fresh appearance and a new hotel area, the property shines with elegant splendor without losing its essence of hospitality and tradition. In addition to 123 modern, comfortable rooms, it offers a lobby with a 24-hour reception, a lounge area with satellite TV, a bar, and an air-conditioned restaurant. The hotel's outdoor area features an existing freshwater swimming pool as well as a new pool by the newly constructed buildings. Both are surrounded by inviting sun terraces with sun loungers and umbrellas, as well as a pool/snack bar each. Wi-Fi is included in all areas of the hotel. Private parking is available free of charge. Sun loungers and umbrellas are offered by third-party providers on the nearby sandy/pebbly beach. From 2027, free sun loungers and umbrellas will also be available on the beach.

Breakfast/Half-Board

The Amalthea restaurant is located in the main building; here, varied buffets with a first-class selection of Greek and Mediterranean dishes as well as local products are offered.
Breakfast is served from 7 am – 10 am. From 2027, this will take place from 7:30 am – 10:30 am.
When booking half-board, dinner is also included from 7 pm – 9:30 pm.
Drinks are not included with dinner.
Vegetarian dishes are available.
Appropriate attire is requested for dinner.

Destination information: Climate Resilience Fee

For stays from 01/01/2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience fee, which must be paid by the guest on site, comparable to a tourist tax.
