Location

The comfortable Alianthos Estate Resort is located at the entrance to the charming village of Plakias on the south coast of Crete. The coastal road separates the resort from the sandy/pebble beach. The village center can be reached in approx. 250 m, where numerous taverns and cafés line the shore. Plakias is an ideal starting point for excursions to southern Crete, such as the Preveli Monastery. A bus stop is located 300 m away.
The distance to Chania Airport is approx. 99 km and to Heraklion Airport approx. 116 km.

The hotel has been family-owned for four decades and was extensively renovated and expanded for the 2026 summer season. With a fresh look and a new hotel wing, the complex shines in elegant splendor without losing its essence of hospitality and tradition. In addition to 126 modern, comfortable rooms, it offers a lobby with a 24-hour reception, a lounge area with satellite TV, a bar, and an air-conditioned restaurant. The hotel's outdoor area features an existing freshwater swimming pool as well as a new pool near the newly constructed buildings. Both are surrounded by inviting sun terraces with sunbeds and umbrellas, each with its own pool/snack bar. Wi-Fi is included in all areas of the hotel. Private parking is available free of charge. Sunbeds and umbrellas are offered by external providers at the nearby sandy/pebble beach.

Breakfast/Half board

The Amalthea restaurant is located in the main building, where varied buffets with a first-class selection of Greek and Mediterranean dishes as well as local products are offered.
Breakfast is served from 7:00 AM – 10:00 AM.
When booking half board, dinner is also included from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM.
Drinks are not included during dinner.
Vegetarian dishes are available.
Appropriate attire is requested for dinner.

Destination information: Climate Resilience Tax

For stays from January 1, 2018, the Greek government levies a climate resilience tax, which is to be paid by the guest locally, comparable to a tourist tax. The amount depends on the type/category of the accommodation and is tiered from 0.50 Euro to 15 € per day and room as of January 1, 2025.
