Location

The Meliá Whale Lagoon Maldives is located in the South Ari Atoll, surrounded by white sandy beaches and crystal-clear lagoons. The stunning house reef offers ideal conditions for snorkeling. The "South Ari Marine Protected Area" is just a stone's throw away and is famous for its abundance of whale sharks. The transfer time from the international airport is approximately 30 minutes by seaplane.

Facilities

The brand-new resort from the popular Spanish chain Meliá offers a total of 100 freestanding villas and suites, guaranteeing a new level of tranquility, luxury, and comfort. Amenities include an open reception area with seating and a reception desk. Several restaurants cater to guests' culinary needs, including the all-day dining restaurant and lounge "Sea Salt" with international cuisine and an open kitchen, as well as three specialty restaurants: "Breeze" offering high-quality international snacks, "Magical" with a pool bar and appetizers, and "Aqua" with Mediterranean fusion cuisine. Culinary delights and unforgettable experiences are guaranteed. Refreshing drinks are served at three bars. A snack bar and a beach club complete the diverse offerings. Two infinity pools on the island invite you to relax and unwind. The 37-meter main pool features Balinese beds and offers breathtaking sunset views. The Lagoon Pool, a 250-degree panoramic infinity pool, also hosts activities like yoga and Pilates. Sun loungers, cushions, and umbrellas are available free of charge at the pools and on the beach.

Sunrise Villa

The spacious and modern beach villas offer plenty of space on 85 sqm (incl. outdoor area) and are located on the sunrise side, just a few steps from the powder-white sandy beach. The rooms feature a bathroom with shower, outdoor shower, and bathtub, air conditioning, 50" Smart TV, Wi-Fi access, safe, coffee/tea maker, and minibar (for a fee), as well as a furnished terrace with a swing and loungers. Sunrise Water Villa

With similar amenities and a slightly more spacious interior (identical total size), these villas are built on stilts over the lagoon and are an oasis of peace and relaxation. From the private terrace, these rooms offer direct access to the sea. Additionally equipped with a Nespresso machine and a vanity table (1OR/2OR). Also available on the sunset side. (1OT/2OT)

Breakfast buffet at the "Sea Salt Restaurant". With half board booked, dinner is also available at the "Sea Salt Restaurant". With full board booked, lunch and dinner are also available at the "Sea Salt Restaurant". Use of other restaurants is possible for an additional charge.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the "Sea Salt Restaurant". Once per stay, dinner (as a set menu) is possible at the "Aqua" restaurant (reservations required, minimum stay of 5 nights). Coffee, tea, and snacks/cakes are available in the morning from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM and in the afternoon from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM. Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as juices, are available all day at the respective open bars (approx. 10 AM to midnight). The minibar is replenished once daily with selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and small snacks.

Speedboat: Operated for estimated arrival/departure between 5 AM and 11 PM // Domestic flight: Operated for arrivals/departures between 9:30 AM and 4 PM // Seaplane: Operated for arrivals/departures between 9 AM and 3 PM.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
Seaplane transfers may include 1-2 intermediate landings.
For arrivals/departures outside the above times, in case of bad weather, or longer waiting times upon entry, an overnight stay in Male may be required.
Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on island location) as well as currently most domestic flights are only operated during daylight hours. Therefore, an overnight stay in Male may be necessary.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. For an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, there may be only 1 or 2 large beds available in total. Accordingly, it may happen that in a room with 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, one child has to sleep in the parents' bed! An extra bed cannot be guaranteed in advance and will be assigned on-site subject to availability.
