Location

Meeru Island is located on the eastern outer reef of the North Male Atoll. Measuring approximately 1,200 m in length and 350 m in width, the Meeru Island Resort is situated on the largest island in the atoll. The island can be reached from the airport in less than an hour by speedboat. The nearest snorkeling spots are about 50-150 m away. The house reef is located off the shore of the island.

Facilities

The hotel complex consists of a total of 282 rooms. Main attractions include the large lagoon and the dreamlike white sandy beaches that completely surround the island. The resort features an open, tastefully designed lobby area with a reception, souvenir shop, a "Meeru Moments" photo studio, and two separate spa areas (one in an idyllic garden setting and the second directly over the water with a glass floor). Culinary highlights include six bars and six restaurants that invite you to linger. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the buffet restaurants "Maalan" (adults-only area) and "Farivalhu". Furthermore, you have the option to choose from a selection of four different à la carte restaurants. The "Asian Wok" offers varied, modern Asian cuisine and also includes a Teppanyaki grill, which completes the offering. The "The Reef" restaurant invites you on a different kind of culinary journey, where Meeru pampers you with steaks and seafood, which can also be prepared directly at the table. Two large swimming pools (one of which is for adults only) round off the island's extensive range of offerings and invite you to relax (sun loungers, bath towels, and cushions included).

Accommodation

Garden Room

The 20 modern U-shaped terraced bungalows are approx. 50 m² in size and tastefully furnished, featuring a bathroom with rain shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, telephone, TV, coffee/tea maker, minibar (for a fee), safe, sitting area, and covered wooden terrace (G2B/G1B).

Beach Villa

With the same amenities as the Garden Bungalows, these 56 m² villas additionally feature a semi-open bathroom and are located amidst tropical vegetation facing the beach with a view of the lagoon (2BV/1BV).

Jacuzzi Beach Villa

Same amenities as the Beach Villas, but at 80 m², more spacious and comfortably furnished with a private open-air whirlpool area (bookable from 18 years, (2JV) ).

Water Front Villa

Same amenities as the Jacuzzi Beach Villas, but at 60 m², additionally with two sinks, located right on the beach, even closer to the water (bookable from 18 years, (WFZ/WFS) ).

Jacuzzi Water Villa

Same amenities as the Water Front villas but larger (approx. 85 m²) and built on stilts over the lagoon with a private sun deck, seating area, and sun loungers with direct access to the sea (JW2)

Ocean Villa

With the same amenities and size as the Jacuzzi Water Villa, the Ocean Villa is located in the north of the island. (bookable from 18 years (2OV) ).

Beach Pool Villa

With a size of approx. 86 m², the Beach Pool Villas feature a spacious bedroom as well as a semi-open bathroom with an outdoor bathtub. The villas also feature a private pool as well as a sun terrace and are located on the sunset side, directly on the beach. (VPZ) Additionally, the following amenities are included:

- Dine-around in Maalan & Farivalhu (subject to availability/reservation in advance)
- Delicacies from the chef upon arrival and at turn-down service

Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, for safety reasons, a minimum age of 6 years applies for children for bookings of these room types at Schauinsland-Reisen.

All meals are served buffet-style in the respective main restaurant. For accommodation in the southern part of the island, in the "Farivalhu" restaurant; in the northern part, in the "Maalan" restaurant. Breakfast is served from 7:30-10:00, lunch from 12:30-14:00, and dinner from 19:00-21:00; in addition, afternoon tea, cake, and snacks are provided. Dinner can also be taken as a 3-course set menu in the "Asian Wok", "A-Mare", or "The Reef" restaurants (reservation required).
Selected local alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (mineral water, soft drinks, fruit juices, coffee, tea, beer, wine, cocktails, and various spirits) included. Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (mineral water, soft drinks, beer, house wine, iced coffee, and iced tea) included in the minibar with daily replenishment.
All sports-loving visitors can look forward to free golf lessons on the driving range, windsurfing, or snorkeling, each with full equipment included (limited in time and subject to availability). Furthermore, kayaks, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, billiards, snooker, darts, yoga, and football are at your disposal. As a highlight, the Meeru team invites you to a unique and eventful "Sunset Cruise", on which you can enjoy the Indian Ocean on one of the resort's yachts (bookable subject to availability, subject to change).

Sports included

Fitness room, beach volleyball, billiards, badminton, darts, table tennis, and football.

Sports for a fee

Tennis, driving range and 9-hole golf course, catamaran sailing, windsurfing, stand-up paddling, water skiing, wakeboards, fun tube, jet ski, kayak, snorkeling equipment, and diving.

Children's program

The "Koamas Kid's Club" offers various toys and games for children from 3 to 12 years old. The resort also has a playground.

Wellness

"Duniye Spas" with massages and various treatments, each for a fee. One of the spas is located in the garden, one on stilts over the sea. The treatments and massages are identical, only the location and view of the spas differ.

Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the island's location) as well as currently most domestic flights are only carried out during the daytime. An overnight stay in Male (near the airport) may therefore be necessary.

The baggage allowance for seaplanes is 20 kg + 5 kg hand luggage per person. Excess baggage must be paid for on-site (approx. 5 USD per kg). Excess baggage is usually delivered by boat subsequently.
