Sundays/Fridays: Individual flight from Germany to Hanoi.
Note: International flights are not part of the round trip.
Day 1 (Monday/Saturday): Hanoi
Arrival in Hanoi and transfer to the hotel. After check-in, a walk through the fascinating old town with its famous 36 streets begins in the afternoon around 3 p.m. In this lively quarter, the most diverse goods have been traded for centuries.
Afterwards, you will sample a Vietnamese egg coffee at the traditional Café Giang. The café was founded in 1946 by Nguyen Giang, who previously worked as a bartender at what is now the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi.
Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, combines traditional Vietnamese influences with French flair in a special way.

Day 2 (Tuesday/Sunday): Hanoi
After breakfast, the full-day tour of the Vietnamese capital begins at around 8:30 a.m.
First, the Ho Chi Minh Complex with the mausoleum, the traditional stilt house, the Presidential Palace, and the One Pillar Pagoda will be visited. Next on the program is the Temple of Literature. The complex is considered Vietnam's first university and is dedicated to Confucian teachings today.
Afterwards, the tour continues to Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ngoc Son Temple, which was built in the 18th century. The day concludes with a visit to a traditional water puppet show. This unique Vietnamese art form originated more than ten centuries ago in the Red River Delta and depicts scenes from daily rural life as well as ancient legends and Vietnamese history.

Note: The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mondays, Fridays, and all afternoons. During this time, only an exterior viewing with a photo stop is possible. From June 15th to August 15th, the mausoleum remains closed due to annual renovation work. The Presidential Palace and the residential house within the complex can be visited as usual during this period.
Day 3 (Wednesday/Monday): Hanoi – Halong Bay
After breakfast, the approximately 170-kilometer drive east to the famous Halong Bay begins at around 8:30 a.m. The travel time is approximately three hours. Along the way, the route leads through rural regions and past rice fields, some of which are still farmed using traditional methods.
After arrival, embarkation takes place. During the cruise, an impressive view of the unique island world of Halong Bay opens up. More than 3,000 islands and rock formations rise out of the sea here, forming a spectacular natural landscape. Various islands and bays are explored during the cruise.
Dinner is served on board.
Overnight stay on board the Golden Cruise or a comparable ship. Assistance on the ship is provided by English-speaking onboard staff. A tour guide does not accompany the stay on board.
Day 4 (Thursday/Tuesday): Halong Bay – Hanoi – Flight to Danang – Hoi An
The day starts early so that there is still plenty of opportunity to enjoy the impressive landscape of Halong Bay. After breakfast, the exploration of the bay continues.
Around noon, disembarkation takes place at the Tuan Chau port. Afterwards, transfer to Hanoi Airport and flight in the late afternoon to Danang.
After arrival, you will be met by your local tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Hoi An.

Note: The itinerary in Halong Bay may be changed or cancelled due to weather conditions.
Day 5 (Friday/Wednesday): Hoi An – Hue
In the morning, the historic old town of Hoi An is explored during a walk. For many centuries, Hoi An was one of the most active trading centers in Vietnam. The city's largely preserved architecture is characterized by Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, French, and British influences.
During the walk through the quiet streets, you will visit a traditional historic residential house, the Hoi An Museum, a Chinese assembly hall, and the famous Japanese Bridge. Hoi An's old town has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1999.
In the afternoon, the journey continues to Hue. The route leads over the scenic Hai Van Pass, also known as the Cloud Pass.

Day 6 (Saturday/Thursday): Hue – Flight to Ho Chi Minh City
Hue is picturesquely situated on the banks of the Perfume River and was the capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945. Hue is considered an important center of Vietnamese Buddhism and scholarship. At the same time, the city was the scene of some of the fiercest fighting of the Vietnam War. Today, Hue offers unique insights into the complex history and moving past of Vietnam.
The tour begins with the tomb complex of Tu Duc, the fourth emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty. Afterwards, the Thien Mu Pagoda is visited, which is considered one of the oldest and most beautiful pagodas in Hue.
Then, you will take a traditional dragon boat back across the Perfume River to the city. Afterwards, the impressive Citadel is on the program. Within its walls are the former Imperial Palace and the Forbidden City. Although parts of the complex were destroyed during the Tet Offensive in 1968, the Citadel still provides an impressive insight into the history of the Nguyen Dynasty. The complex has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1993.
Afterwards, transfer to the airport and flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 7 (Sunday/Friday): Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh City
After breakfast, a full-day excursion south to the Mekong Delta begins around 8 a.m.
Due to its great importance for the cultivation of rice and tropical fruits, this fertile region is also known as the "rice bowl of Vietnam." During a boat trip, the mighty Mekong and its narrow side channels are explored, providing interesting insights into the daily life of the local population.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon.
Overnight stay at the Paragon Saigon Hotel or a comparable hotel.
Day 8 (Monday/Saturday): Ho Chi Minh City
In the morning, some of the most famous sights of Ho Chi Minh City are visited. Vietnam's largest city is also the country's most important economic center.
The program includes the historic Central Post Office and the Notre-Dame Cathedral, which will be viewed from the outside due to renovation work. Afterwards, you will go to the striking pink Tan Dinh Church, which is also viewed from the outside, as well as the lively Tan Dinh Market.
Afterwards, you will be transferred to the airport or to your booked connecting hotel.
