Location

Joy Island Resort is located on the eastern outer reef of the North Male Atoll. The island can be reached from the airport by speedboat in approx. 40 minutes. The house reef is approx. 100m away.

Facilities

Opened in 2023, the resort has a total of 151 rooms, built both on land and over water. Amenities include a reception hall with seating. The resort also features a boutique. For culinary delights, there are three restaurants and a bar. Among them is "The Market" with exquisite international cuisine. Enjoy authentic Italian cuisine and fresh stone-baked pizza at the "Il Basilico" restaurant, experience a culinary journey through Japanese cuisine at the Teppanyaki restaurant "Japansese Garden", or relax with a dinner under the stars at the "Palm Beach" restaurant. Additionally, the resort has a pool. Umbrellas, sun loungers with cushions, and beach towels are provided free of charge by the swimming pool and on the beach.

Beach Villa

The Beach Villas are approx. 50 sqm and have a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, safe, ceiling fan, minibar (for a fee), coffee/tea maker, and a furnished terrace with direct beach access. (2BV)

Beach Suite

With the same amenities as the Beach Villa, the Beach Suite is larger (approx. 70 sqm) and located on the sunset side of the island. (BS2)

Lagoon Villa

With the same amenities as the Beach Villa, the Lagoon Villa is larger (approx. 60 sqm) and located on the sunrise side. Additionally, the villa offers direct access to the sea. (LV2)

Lagoon Suite

With the same amenities as the Lagoon Villa, the Lagoon Suite is larger (approx. 70 sqm), located on the sunset side, and also features a bathtub. (DL2)

All Inclusive

All-Inclusive

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the main restaurant. Afternoon snacks, cakes, tea, and coffee from 4:30 PM to 6 PM. Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks such as water, soft drinks, juices, beer, house wine, cocktails, and mocktails from 10 AM to midnight at the open bar. Daily minibar refill with selected drinks (water and soft drinks). Additionally, use of non-motorized water sports (kayak, paddleboard, snorkeling equipment) is included.

Premium All-Inclusive (bookable until 26.12.2025)

In addition to All-Inclusive, a selection of premium wines, prosecco, various signature drinks, fresh juices, and tea/coffee blends are included from 10 AM to midnight at the open bar. Daily minibar refill also includes beer, wine, and snacks. Furthermore, two excursions, Sunset Fishing and Local Island Trip (subject to change), are included. Guests also receive a 20% discount on all spa treatments, a romantic dinner on the beach, and a BBQ dinner on the beach.

Hotel-independent transfer information:
Speedboat: Operates for estimated arrivals/departures between 5 AM and 11 PM.
Domestic flight: Operates for arrivals/departures between 9:30 AM and 4 PM.
Seaplane: Operates for arrivals/departures between 9 AM and 3 PM.
Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfers may occur.
There may be 1-2 intermediate stops on seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside the above times, in case of bad weather or long waiting times upon entry, an overnight stay in Male may be required.
The luggage allowance for seaplanes is 20 kg + 3 kg of hand luggage per person. Excess baggage is payable locally (approx. 5 USD per kg). Excess baggage is usually delivered by boat.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. For a occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, it is possible that only 1 or 2 large beds are available in total. Accordingly, it may occur that for 2 adults + 1 or 2 children in one room, a child has to sleep in the parents' bed! An extra bed cannot be guaranteed in advance and will be allocated on-site subject to availability.
