Location

Meeru Island is located on the eastern outer reef of the North Male Atoll. Approximately 1,200 m long and 350 m wide, Meeru Island Resort is situated on the largest island in the atoll. From the airport, the island can be reached in less than an hour by speedboat. The nearest snorkeling spots are about 50-150 m away. The house reef is located off the island.

Facilities

The hotel complex consists of a total of 282 rooms. Key attractions include the large lagoon and the dreamlike white sandy beaches that completely surround the island. The resort features an open-air, tastefully designed reception area, a souvenir shop, a "Meeru Moments" photo studio, and two separate spa areas (one in an idyllic garden setting and the second directly over the water with a glass floor). Culinary highlights include six bars and six restaurants that invite you to linger. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the "Maalan" (adults-only area) and "Farivalhu" buffet restaurants. Furthermore, you have the opportunity to choose from a selection of four different à la carte restaurants. "Asian Wok" offers varied, modern Asian cuisine and also includes a Teppanyaki grill, which completes the offer. The "The Reef" restaurant invites you on a culinary journey of a different kind; here, Meeru spoils you with steaks and seafood, which can also be prepared directly at your table. Two large swimming pools (one of which is for adults only) round off the extensive range of the island's amenities and invite you to relax (sun loungers, beach towels, and pads included).

Garden Room

The 20 modern, U-shaped terraced bungalows are approx. 50 m² in size and tastefully furnished, featuring a bathroom with rain shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, telephone, TV, coffee/tea maker, minibar (for a fee), safe, seating area, and covered wooden terrace (G2B/G1B).

Beach Villa

With the same features as the Garden Bungalows, these 56 m² villas additionally feature a semi-open bathroom and are located in tropical vegetation facing the beach with a view of the lagoon (2BV/1BV).

Jacuzzi Beach Villa

With the same features as the Beach Villas at 80 m², these are more spacious and comfortably furnished with a private open-air whirlpool area (bookable from 18 years, (2JV)).

Water Front Villa

With the same features as the Jacuzzi Beach Villas at 60 m², additionally with two sinks and located directly on the beach, even closer to the water (bookable from 18 years, (WFZ/WFS)).

Jacuzzi Water Villa

With the same features as the Water Front, these are larger (approx. 85 m²) and built on stilts over the lagoon with a private sun deck, seating area, and sun loungers with direct access to the sea (JW2).

Ocean Villa

With the same features and size as the Jacuzzi Water Villa, the Ocean Villa is located in the north of the island (bookable from 18 years (2OV)).

Beach Pool Villa

With a size of approx. 86 m², the Beach Pool Villas feature a spacious bedroom as well as a semi-open bathroom with an outdoor bathtub. The villas also have a private pool and sun terrace and are located directly on the beach on the sunset side. (VPZ) The following additional amenities are included:
- a Floating Breakfast
- free shisha in selected bars
- host service
- dine-around in Maalan & Farivalhu (subject to availability/reservation in advance)
- treats from the chef upon arrival and at turn-down service
- daily free selection of Nespresso capsules
- 20% discount on one-hour spa treatment during the first two days
- free use of the golf putting green, boat trip to the house reef (equipment not included), and bicycles (max. two)
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased safety risk for young children. Therefore, for safety reasons, Schauinsland-Reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

All Inclusive Plus

All meals are served in the respective main restaurant in buffet style. When staying in the southern part of the island in the "Farivalhu" restaurant and in the northern part in the "Maalan" restaurant. Breakfast is served from 7:30-10 AM, lunch from 12:30-2 PM, and dinner from 7-9 PM, as well as afternoon tea, cake, and snacks. Dinner can optionally be taken in the "Asian Wok," "A-Mare," or "The Reef" restaurant as a 3-course set menu (reservation required).
Selected local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (mineral water, soft drinks, fruit juices, coffee, tea, beer, wine, cocktails, and various spirits) included. Selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (mineral water, soft drinks, beer, house wine, iced coffee, and iced tea) included in the minibar, which is refilled daily.
All sports-loving visitors can enjoy free golf lessons on the driving range, windsurfing, or snorkeling, each with full equipment included (limited time and subject to availability). Furthermore, kayaks, tennis, table tennis, volleyball, badminton, billiards, snooker, darts, yoga, and football are at your disposal. As a highlight, the Meeru team invites you to a unique and eventful "Sunset Cruise," where you can enjoy the Indian Ocean on one of the resort's yachts (bookable subject to availability, subject to change).

The "Koamas Kid's Club" offers various toys and games for children from 3 to 12 years old. Additionally, the resort has a playground.

Wellness

"Duniye Spas" with massages and various treatments, each for a fee. One of the spas is located in the garden, and one is on stilts over the sea. The treatments and massages are identical; only the location and view of the spas are different.

Waiting times of 3 hours or more for onward transfer are possible.
There may be 1–2 stopovers during seaplane transfers.
For arrivals/departures outside these times, an overnight stay in Male must be booked in advance. The costs for this must be borne by the guest. Exceptions are changes due to flight delays, bad weather, or long waiting times upon entry (in these cases, our local agency will take care of any overnight stay).
Children under 18 years of age are not permitted in the Jacuzzi Beach Villa, Water Front Villa, and Jacuzzi Water Villa accommodations.

In the Maldives, most rooms are equipped with one or two queen/king-size beds. With an occupancy of 2 adults + 1 or 2 children, there may only be a total of 1 or 2 large beds available. Accordingly, it may happen that with 2 adults + 1 or 2 children in one room, a child must sleep in the parents' bed.

Seaplane flights and most boat transfers (depending on the location of the island) as well as currently mostly domestic flights are only operated during the day. Therefore, an overnight stay in Male (near the airport) may be necessary.

The baggage limit for seaplanes is 20 kg + 5 kg hand luggage per person. Excess baggage must be paid for on-site (approx. 5 USD per kg). Excess baggage is usually delivered by boat.
