Local customs and etiquette:
Omanis are known for their warmth and hospitality. Visitors should respect local customs by dressing conservatively, especially at religious sites. Public displays of affection are generally avoided, and loud or disruptive behavior is discouraged.
Photography and drones:
Always ask for permission before photographing people. Avoid taking photos of government buildings and military installations. Flying drones without a license is illegal.
Alcohol and e-cigarettes:
Alcohol can be purchased and consumed in licensed venues such as hotels and restaurants, with the legal drinking age being 21. Visitors may also purchase at the airport duty-free. Public intoxication is prohibited. E-cigarettes are illegal in Oman.

Seasonal information

During the fasting month of Ramadan, there may be restrictions in hotel operations. Additionally, hotels use this time for maintenance and minor renovations, which may lead to disruptions such as pool closures. Furthermore, some restaurants may be closed as meals are not served everywhere.
The entertainment program at the hotel will be cancelled or limited.
