This 5-star all-inclusive family hotel was newly built and opened its doors in September 2025. This luxury-class hotel features 346 elegant rooms, suites, and villas, as well as a lobby with a reception and seating lounge. The Jaz Elite Aurora also offers an art gallery, a kids' club, and an aquapark (entry is free for all hotel guests, temporarily open subject to occupancy) featuring Zanzibar's largest pool landscape. The aquapark offers a selection of colorful, winding slides, splash pads, and playgrounds. In addition to the infinity pool (ages 16+) with panoramic views, there is a relaxation pool. The hotel also features a fully equipped fitness room, a sauna, and a hammam. Particularly impressive is the hotel's 146-meter-long and approximately 4-meter-wide jetty, which houses a restaurant and a bar. The main restaurant "Zaafarani" serves international buffets, and the à-la-carte restaurants offer national and international dishes. The jetty restaurant "Samaki" offers a special seafood menu, and the jetty teppanyaki restaurant "Moto" offers Japanese dishes for an additional fee. Please note that hotel check-in takes place from 2 PM or 3 PM, regardless of arrival time.
We would like to inform you that all airlines from Tanzania are currently on the EU's so-called ‘blacklist’. For this reason, they are currently not authorised to operate long-haul flights to the EU. We are therefore not currently using any of these airlines for our long-haul flights to the EU.
The lack of authorisation is not due to specific safety problems with the individual airlines, but rather to the inspection and safety procedures of the Tanzanian aviation authority, which do not currently meet the safety requirements of the EU.
However, the airlines that we use for domestic flights (for example, for transfer flights from Zanzibar to mainland Tanzania) are subject to the international safety assessment ISSA of the IATA (International Air Transport Association) or a comparable safety assessment. These assessments correspond to the globally recognised safety standards of the aviation industry.
