Travel Information

Combined package of a Nile cruise on the MS Steigenberger Minerva and a beach holiday, including all intermediate transfers. Accommodation in the hotel will always be in the cheapest available room category. If the Nile cruise is booked first, the outward flight must be to Luxor. If the hotel is booked first and then the Nile cruise, the return flight must be from Luxor.

Notice

The travel package you have selected has a duration of 12 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on board the ship always takes place for seven days according to the program. The preceding and subsequent stay at the hotel depends on your arrival day and the embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and port are included.

Arrival and embarkation. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
Day 2:
After breakfast in the morning, excursion to Thebes West
to the Temple of Hatshepsut (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, sail to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 3:
After breakfast in the morning, visit to the Temple of Habu (1,2,3).
Then continue sailing to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and sail to Kom Ombo, where you have free time.
Continue sailing to Aswan, dinner and overnight on board.
Day 4:
After breakfast in the morning, visit the Aswan High Dam and the Old Dam in Aswan (1,2,3).
Then visit the Temple of Philae by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, felucca ride on the Nile (1,2,3)
Then an opportunity for a camel ride (3) on the way to visit a Nubian village with the desert on one side and the Nile on the other (3).
Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 5:
Early in the morning at 3:30 AM, opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3). Breakfast package included.
Lunch on board. Overnight and dinner on board.
Day 6:
Breakfast on board. Then visit the Temple of Kom Ombo (1,2,3).
Then continue via Edfu and Esna to Luxor.
Overnight and dinner on board.
Day 7:
At 5 AM, excursion by balloon (optional, can be booked on site).
Breakfast, visit to the East Bank, Karnak and Luxor Temples (1,2,3).

Facilities

The Nile cruise ship from the renowned Steigenberger hotel chain has a total of 77 outside cabins spread across various decks. It also features a main restaurant, a 24-hour reception, a lounge bar, a hairdresser (on request), a souvenir shop, and a sun deck with a pool and bar. Bath towels are included on board.

The family-friendly hotel is located directly on a beautifully landscaped lagoon of 1,500 meters with its own beach section in El Gouna, north of Hurghada. A shuttle boat transfer (approx. 15 minutes by boat) takes guests to another private island beach on the open sea, the beautiful Zeytouna Beach. A long pier extends from Zeytouna Beach out into the Red Sea. From there, experience the fascinating underwater world while snorkeling. The center of El Gouna is approx. 350m away. Hurghada Airport is about 25 kilometers away.

Facilities

Built in Nubian village style, the complex impresses with a cozy atmosphere, characterized by towers, domes, and arches, and features 434 comfortably furnished rooms spread across several two-story buildings. The resort has a beautiful and inviting reception area with seating and Wi-Fi in all public areas. The outdoor area includes four different swimming pools (fitness pool, sunset pool with two small slides, aqua splash pool with four different water slides, dolphin pool), three of which are heated in winter. There are also four children's pools for the little ones, three of which are heated in winter. One of these pools has small slides and water features. Sun loungers, beach towels, and umbrellas are provided free of charge at the pools and on the hotel's private beach. For culinary delights, there is a main restaurant and four different specialty restaurants, as well as various bars.

Double Room Comfort (DK2)

The tastefully furnished rooms (approx. 21 m²) have been fully renovated and feature a bathroom with shower/toilet, minibar (for a fee), air conditioning, telephone, hairdryer, kettle, coffee/tea maker, safe, satellite TV, Wi-Fi, and a balcony or terrace with pool and garden view. Also bookable for single occupancy (DK1).

Premium Room (PR2)

With the same amenities as the double rooms, these rooms are more spacious (approx. 28 m²) and offer pool/garden or lagoon views. Also bookable for single occupancy (PR1).

Family Room (DF2)

The cozy family rooms have the same amenities as the double rooms but are more spacious (approx. 37 m²).

Superior Double Room

The newly bookable Superior rooms (DSU, 28 m²) are renovated and offer various views depending on the room's location in the hotel – either overlooking the garden or the refreshing pool. The rooms are equipped with two types of beds: a spacious king-size bed or two single beds, as per your preference. The rooms feature free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, a kettle, and tea/coffee making facilities.

The main restaurant "Sunny Restaurant" offers breakfast (7-10 AM), lunch (12-2:30 PM), and dinner (6:30-9 PM) in buffet style. Additionally, the restaurant offers tea time with various snacks from 4-5 PM. Various specialty restaurants are also available: "Greenhouse" with vegan and vegetarian dishes in the morning (7:30-11 AM in buffet style), lunch (11 AM-3 PM à la carte for a fee) and in the evening (6-9 PM à la carte for a fee with prior reservation). "Lagoon Lunch" at midday (12-3 PM à la carte). "Dolce Vita" with Italian dishes (6:30-9 PM à la carte) and "Chez Pascal" with a selection of various specialties (6:30-9 PM à la carte for a fee on Fridays). Dine Around El Gouna

The Dine-Around program offers guests with half board, full board, or all-inclusive a special culinary experience. Guests can dine in participating restaurants of other hotels – without any additional cost for the food (drinks excluded).
