Travel information

Combination package featuring a Nile cruise on the MS Nile Excellence and a beach holiday, including all transfers between locations. Accommodation at the hotel is always provided in the most affordable available room category. Embarkation always takes place on Thursdays. The trip must be started at least one day in advance, as an overnight stay prior to the cruise is mandatory. You will always be booked on the earliest possible embarkation date.

Notice

The travel offer you have selected has a duration of 14 Days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always for seven Days according to the program. The preliminary and subsequent stay at the hotel depends on your arrival day and the embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and port are included.

When booking the MS Nile Excellence, the following excursions are automatically included: Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo Temple, and a visit to the High Dam in Aswan.

Itinerary:
1st Day:
Arrival and embarkation. In the afternoon, visit the Luxor Museum (3). Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
2nd Day:
At 5 am, a hot air balloon ride is possible (optional, bookable locally).
In the morning, after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to the Hatshepsut Temple (1,2,3) with a viewing of the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, cruise to Edfu. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
3rd Day:
In the morning, continue to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and visit to the Double Temple (1,2,3).
Continue to Aswan, dinner and overnight stay on board.
4th Day:
In the morning after breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam (1,2,3).
Afterwards, visit the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, felucca ride on the Nile (1,2,3).
Then visit a Nubian village (3).
Dinner and overnight stay on board.
5th Day:
Early morning at 3:30 am, opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3), breakfast box is included.
Then return to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board. Overnight stay and dinner on board.
6th Day:
Breakfast on board. Afterwards, the ship continues to Esna. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
7th Day:
Breakfast. Afterwards, you have the opportunity to visit the Edfu Temple (1,2,3).
Afterwards, the ship continues to Luxor.
Upon arrival, you have the opportunity to visit the East Bank with the Luxor Temple (1,2,3) and the Karnak Temple (1,2,3). There is an opportunity for a Sound and Light Show at the Karnak Temple (optional, can be added locally).
8th Day:
Departure.

Facilities

The MS Nile Excellence has a total of 30 modernly furnished outside cabins, which are distributed over several decks. The reception area is bright and elegantly designed and has a reception desk. Let yourself be pampered in the main restaurant and enjoy the cold drinks served by the three bars on board. Furthermore, a small bazaar and a cozy reading corner are at your disposal. From winter 2024/25, the ship will have a small gym that is freely accessible to all guests on board. To make your holiday perfect, you can relax on the loungers on the sun deck or cool off in the pool and enjoy the fantastic view of the landscape along the Nile.

Accommodation

Suite

The friendly furnished suites (S2) are approx. 24 m² in size and feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, two single beds or one double bed, air conditioning (individually adjustable), minibar, safe, TV, telephone (for a fee), sitting area, and a French balcony.
Also bookable for single use (1SA).

Royal Suite

The Royal Suites (RS) have the same facilities as the suites, but are larger (approx. 37 m²). The Royal Suites are located on the middle deck and upper deck.
In the Royal Suites, there is also a small table and two chairs on the balcony.

Single Suites

The single suites (S1) are approx. 13 m² in size and otherwise have the same facilities as the suites, but with only one single bed without a sitting area.

Economy Suite

The economy suites (S2Z), while otherwise having the same facilities as the suites, are slightly smaller (approx. 21 m²) and may be without a French balcony and without a sitting area, but with a non-opening window.

Breakfast includes soft drinks and hot drinks. For lunch and dinner, two soft drinks and one small bottle of water per person are included.

Location

The sprawling resort is located directly on the hotel's own sand/gravel beach (swimming shoes recommended) and is only approx. 40 km from Marsa Alam Airport.
Due to the gently sloping beach, you have the opportunity for a relaxing beach holiday. On the other hand, a long jetty leads directly into deeper water, from where you can discover the beautiful and impressive underwater world of the Red Sea. The beach offers the best conditions for snorkeling and diving.

Facilities

The large newly opened hotel complex consists of 514 rooms. The cozy and charmingly furnished complex has a reception, several shops, an amphitheater, various bars, two buffet restaurants ("El Khan"-oriental, "Soprano Restaurant"-international cuisine), an à-la-carte restaurant ("Shell Fish"-seafood, once per stay, with reservation), two snack restaurants, and various bars and a café, The Bakery.
In the spacious outdoor area, there are 12 swimming pools (three of which are heated in winter) and 3 children's pools (two of which can be heated in winter). The newly built Aqua Park with 32 water slides (11 for adults and 21 for children; partially heated in winter) offers fun for young and old.
Sun loungers, umbrellas, pads, and towels are available free of charge at the pool and beach.
Customers of the "Pickalbatros Portofino Villaggio" can use all facilities of the sister hotel "Pickalbatros Portofino Vita" (RMF116).

Double room Superior

The modern Double Superior rooms (DSU, approx. 42-45m²) are equipped with a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.
For an extra charge, also bookable with pool view (DSP) or sea view (DMU).
Under RMFA49 also bookable as single occupancy with garden view (DSE), as single occupancy with pool view (DST), and as single occupancy with sea view (DME).

Family room Deluxe garden view

The modern rooms (2FS, approx. 70 m²) consist of a bedroom with a king-size bed and a bedroom with single beds and a sofa bed and are equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.
For an extra charge, also bookable with pool view (XF2).

Royal Suite Swim Up pool view

The Royal Suites (SWP) are approx. 105 m² in size and feature a bathroom/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, minibar (water included), safe, kettle, telephone (for a fee), TV, and terrace with direct access to the communal swim-up pool. The rooms have two bedrooms.
(Additional quota bookable under RMFA49 as Royal Suite Type B (RZ3)).
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased safety risk for small children.
Therefore, for security reasons, schauinsland-reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for children when booking these room types.

Junior Suite panorama sea view

The spacious Junior Suites Panoramic Sea View (J2M, approx. 52 m²) offer an impressive panoramic view of the Red Sea and the extensive resort grounds due to their elevated location. The tastefully furnished suites feature a combined living and sleeping area with a king-size bed, sitting area, and dressing area. Further facilities include air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, minibar, kettle, safe, and a bathroom with a walk-in shower. The private balcony with seating invites you to enjoy the wonderful view and relaxing holiday hours.

Double room Deluxe (RMFA49)

The Double rooms Deluxe correspond in size and equipment to the double rooms (DD2). Also bookable with pool view (DBP) and with sea view (DDM).

Bungalow Deluxe sea view (RMFA49)

The Bungalows Deluxe have a size of approx. 35m² and are equipped with air conditioning, bathroom with shower or bathtub/WC, flat-screen TV, balcony or terrace, and have a sea view (2BM).

Superior Bungalow sea view (RMFA49)

The Superior Bungalows are similar in facilities to the Bungalows Deluxe, but are larger at approx. 45m² (2UB).
