Travel information

Combined product of a Nile cruise on MS Steigenberger Minerva and a beach holiday, including all intermediate transfers. Accommodation in the hotel will always be in the most affordable available room category. If the Nile cruise is booked first, the outbound flight must be to Luxor. If the hotel is booked first and then the Nile cruise, the return flight must be from Luxor.

Notice

The travel package you have selected has a duration of 10 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship always follows the program for seven days. The pre- and post-cruise stay in the hotel depends on your arrival day and the embarkation day. All transfers between airport, hotel, and port are included.

Embarkation is on Thursdays.
Arrival and embarkation. Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
Day 2:
After breakfast in the morning, excursion to Thebes West
to the Temple of Hatshepsut (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Sailing to Edfu in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 3:
After breakfast in the morning, visit to the Temple of Habu (1,2,3).
Then continue sailing to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and sailing to Kom Ombo, where you have free time.
Continue sailing to Aswan, dinner and overnight on board.
Day 4:
After breakfast in the morning, visit to the Aswan High Dam and the Old Dam in Aswan (1,2,3).
Then visit to the Temple of Philae by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, felucca sailing on the Nile (1,2,3)
Then an opportunity for a camel ride (3) on the way to visit a Nubian village with the desert on one side and the Nile on the other (3).

Early in the morning at 3:30 AM, opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3). Breakfast package included.

Day 6:
Breakfast on board. Afterwards, visit the Temple of Kom Ombo (1,2,3).
Then continue via Edfu and Esna to Luxor.

Facilities

The Nile cruise ship, belonging to the renowned Steigenberger hotel chain, has a total of 77 exterior cabins spread across various decks. It also features a main restaurant, a 24-hour reception, a lounge bar, a hairdresser (on request), a souvenir shop, and a sun deck with a pool and bar. Beach towels are included on board.

The extensive resort is located directly on the hotel's own sand/pebble beach (swimming shoes recommended) and is only approx. 40 km from Marsa Alam Airport.
The gently sloping beach offers the possibility for a relaxing beach holiday. On the other hand, the long jetty leads directly into deeper water, from where you can discover the beautiful and impressive underwater world of the Red Sea. The beach offers the best conditions for snorkeling and diving.

Facilities

The large, newly opened hotel complex consists of 514 rooms. The cozily and charmingly furnished complex has a reception, several shops, an amphitheater, various bars, two buffet restaurants ("El Khan" - oriental, "Soprano Restaurant" - international cuisine), an à la carte restaurant ("Shell Fish" - seafood, once per stay, with reservation), two snack restaurants, and various bars and a café, The Bakery.
In the spacious outdoor area, there are 12 swimming pools (three of which are heated in winter) and 3 children's pools (two of which can be heated in winter). The newly built Aqua Park with 32 water slides (11 for adults and 21 for children; partially heated in winter) offers fun for all ages.
Sun loungers, umbrellas, mattresses, and towels are provided free of charge by the pool and on the beach.
Guests of the "Pickalbatros Portofino Villaggio" can use all facilities of the sister hotel "Pickalbatros Portofino Vita" (RMF116).

The modern Superior Double rooms (DSU, approx. 42-45 m²) are equipped with a bathroom with shower/WC, hairdryer, safe, minibar (water included), kettle, air conditioning, telephone (for a fee), TV, and balcony or terrace.

Royal Suite Swim Up Pool View

The Royal Suites (SWP) are approx. 105 m² and have a bathroom/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, minibar (water included), safe, kettle, telephone (for a fee), TV, and a terrace with direct access to the shared swim-up pool. The rooms have two bedrooms.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased risk to small children.
Therefore, for safety reasons for children, schauinsland-reisen requires a minimum age of 6 years for bookings of these room types.
