Travel information

Combination package consisting of a Nile cruise on the MS Nile Excellence and a beach holiday, including all connecting transfers. Accommodation in the hotel is always in the most reasonably priced available room category. If the Nile cruise is booked first, the inbound flight must be to Luxor. If the hotel is booked first and the Nile cruise afterwards, the return flight must be from Luxor.

Notice

The travel package you have selected has a duration of 14 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always for seven days according to the program. The pre- and post-stay at the hotel depends on your arrival day and the embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and port are included.

When booking the MS Nile Excellence, the following excursions are automatically included: Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo Temple, and a visit to the High Dam in Aswan.

At 5 a.m., a hot air balloon flight is possible (optional, bookable on site).
In the morning, after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to the Hatshepsut Temple (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon journey to Edfu. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 3:
Morning journey to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and visit to the Double Temple (1,2,3).
Journey to Aswan, dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 4:
Morning, after breakfast, visit to the Aswan High Dam (1,2,3).
Then visit the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.

Early morning at 3:30 a.m., opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3), breakfast box is included.

Breakfast on board. Then the ship continues to Esna. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 7:
Breakfast. Then you have the opportunity to visit the Edfu Temple (1,2,3).
After that, the ship continues to Luxor.
Once there, you have the opportunity to visit the East Bank with the Luxor Temple (1,2,3) and the Karnak Temple (1,2,3). There is an opportunity for a Sound and Light Show at the Karnak Temple (optional, can be booked on site).

Facilities

The MS Nile Excellence features a total of 30 modernly furnished outside cabins, which are distributed over several decks. The reception area is bright and elegantly designed and has a reception desk. Let yourself be pampered in the main restaurant and enjoy the cool drinks served by the three bars on board. Furthermore, a small bazaar and a cozy reading corner are available to you. From winter 2024/25, the ship will have a small fitness room, which is freely accessible to all guests on board. To make your holiday perfect, you can relax on the sun loungers on the sun deck or cool off in the pool and enjoy the dreamlike view of the landscape along the Nile.

Suite

The friendly furnished suites (S2) are approx. 24 m² in size and feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, two single beds or one double bed, air conditioning (individually adjustable), minibar, safe, TV, telephone (for a fee), seating area, and a French balcony.

Royal Suite

The Royal Suites (RS) feature the same facilities as the suites but are larger (approx. 37 m²). The Royal Suites are located on the middle deck and upper deck.
In the Royal Suites, there is also a small table and two chairs on the balcony.

Single Suite

The single suites (S1) are approx. 13 m² in size and otherwise feature the same facilities as the suites, but with only one single bed and no seating area.

Economy Suite

The economy suites (S2Z) have the same facilities as the suites but are slightly smaller (approx. 21 m²) and may be without a French balcony and without a seating area, but with a non-opening window.

The beautiful hotel complex is located directly in the heart of Makadi Bay next to the popular sister hotel "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" (HRG223). The holiday resort is located in the first row on the beach at the most beautiful snorkeling and diving spots in the Bay, thus offering the opportunity to explore the breathtaking underwater world of the Red Sea directly from the gently sloping beach.
It is approx. 37 km to the city center of Hurghada. Hurghada Airport is approx. 32 km away.

Facilities

The schauinsland-reisen original hotel was built in a refined bohemian style and has 240 rooms and suites, which are distributed among various building complexes. With its unique and high-quality dining concept, the hotel stands out in Egypt and thus offers you a choice of a total of three of its own à la carte restaurants ("Lucina"-international cuisine, "Gaia"- Italian cuisine, as well as "Yades"- Greek cuisine) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The à la carte restaurant "Posh Club Lounge" is exclusively available to Posh Club members and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition, guests of the "SUNRISE Tucana Resort Grand Select" can freely use the eight à la carte restaurants of the sister hotel "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" with a diverse selection in the evening. Lexi Swim Up Suite Poolview

The Lexi Swim Up Suite (SWP) features the same facilities as the double superior rooms but is larger (approx. 43 m²). The rooms feature a terrace with access to the swim-up shared pool. On the terrace, there is a dining table as well as two separate sun loungers.
Rooms with direct access to the sharing pool do not have their own lifeguard and pose an increased risk potential for small children and non-swimmers. Supervision duty at the pool is therefore the responsibility of the legal guardians.

Double Superior Room

The friendly furnished rooms (DSU, approx. 35 m²) are equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone (for a fee), Wi-Fi, safe, minibar, and balcony or terrace.

The double deluxe rooms (DD2) feature the same facilities as the double superior rooms but are larger (approx. 40 m²) and have a garden view.

Junior Suite Garden View

The junior suites garden view (JS2) feature the same facilities as the double superior rooms but are larger (approx. 43 m²) and feature a terrace. Also bookable for single use/with a child. (JS1/J1K)

The junior suites Jacuzzi (2JJ, approx. 36 m²) feature the same facilities as the double superior rooms, but with a private Jacuzzi outside on the terrace.

The unique dining concept offers you breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., lunch from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., and dinner from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. in one of the hotel's three à la carte restaurants ("Lucina", "Gaia", "Yades"). As a Posh Club member (booked suite), you also have the opportunity to have your breakfast exclusively in the "Posh Club Lounge." In all four restaurants, a sparkling wine breakfast is included for you. Additionally, dinner can alternatively be enjoyed in the buffet restaurant or in one of the eight different à la carte restaurants of the "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" (Mexican, Italian, Asian, Mediterranean, Steak, Diet and Light, Bedouin Restaurant).
