Travel Information

Combined product of a Nile cruise on the MS Nile Excellence and a beach holiday including all intermediate transfers. Accommodation in the hotel is always in the cheapest available room category. If the Nile cruise is booked first, the inbound flight must be to Luxor. If the hotel is booked first and then the Nile cruise, the return flight must be from Luxor.

Notice

The travel package you have chosen has a duration of 10 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always for seven days according to the program. The preliminary and subsequent stay in the hotel depends on your arrival day and embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and harbor are included.

MS Nile Excellence including excursion

Route

When booking the MS Nile Excellence, the following excursions are automatically included: Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo Temple, and a visit to the High Dam in Aswan. The excursion packages listed below can, of course, still be booked.

Day 1:
Arrival and embarkation. In the afternoon, visit the Luxor Museum (3). Dinner and overnight on board in Luxor.
Day 2:
A balloon ride is possible at 5 am (optional, can be booked on-site).
In the morning, after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to Hatshepsut Temple (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, sailing to Edfu. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 3:
Continue sailing to Kom Ombo in the morning.
Lunch on board and visit the double temple (1,2,3).
Continue sailing to Aswan, dinner and overnight on board.
Day 4:
In the morning, after breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam (1,2,3).
Then visit the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
In the afternoon, felucca ride on the Nile (1,2,3).
Then visit a Nubian village (3).
Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 5:
Early in the morning at 3:30 am, opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3), breakfast package included.
Then it's back to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board. Overnight and dinner on board.
Day 6:
Breakfast on board. Afterwards, the ship continues to Esna. Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 7:
Breakfast. Then you have the option to visit the Edfu Temple (1,2,3).
Afterwards, the ship sails on to Luxor.
Once you arrive, you have the opportunity to visit the East Bank with Luxor Temple (1,2,3) and Karnak Temple (1,2,3). There is an option for a sound and light show at Karnak Temple (optional, can be booked on-site).

Facilities

The MS Nile Excellence has a total of 30 modernly furnished exterior cabins spread across several decks. The reception area is bright and elegantly designed and features a reception desk. Enjoy culinary delights in the main restaurant and relax with cool drinks served by the three bars on board. A small bazaar and a cozy reading corner are also available. As of Winter 2024/25, the ship features a small fitness studio, freely accessible to all guests on board. To make your holiday perfect, you can relax on sun loungers on the sun deck or cool off in the pool while enjoying the magnificent views of the landscape along the Nile.

Accommodation

Suite

The cheerfully furnished suites (S2) are approximately 24 sqm and feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, two single beds or one double bed, air conditioning (individually adjustable), minibar, safe, TV, telephone (for a fee), seating area, and a French balcony. Also available for single use (1SA).

Royal Suite

The Royal Suites (RS) have the same amenities as the suites but are larger (approx. 37 sqm). The Royal Suites are located on the middle and upper decks. In the Royal Suites, the balcony also includes a small table and two chairs.

Single Suite

The single suites (S1) are approximately 13 sqm and otherwise equipped like the suites, but with only one single bed and no seating area.

Economy Suite

The economy suites (S2Z) are slightly smaller (approx. 21 sqm) with otherwise the same amenities as the suites, possibly without a French balcony and without a seating area, but with a non-opening window.

The beautiful hotel complex is located directly in the heart of Makadi Bay, next to the popular sister hotel "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" (HRG223). The holiday resort is situated on the first beach line at the most beautiful snorkeling and diving spots in the bay, offering the opportunity to explore the breathtaking underwater world of the Red Sea directly from the gently sloping beach.
The city center of Hurghada is about 37 km away. Hurghada Airport is approximately 32 km away.

Facilities

The schauinsland-reisen original hotel is built in an elegant Bohemian style and features 240 rooms and suites distributed across various building complexes. With its unique and high-quality dining concept, the hotel stands out in Egypt, offering you a choice of three in-house à la carte restaurants ("Lucina" - international cuisine, "Gaia" - Italian cuisine, and "Yades" - Greek cuisine) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The "Posh Club Lounge" à la carte restaurant is exclusively available to Posh Club members and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Additionally, guests of the "SUNRISE Tucana Resort Grand Select" can use the eight à la carte restaurants of the sister hotel "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" free of charge in the evenings, offering a diverse selection. The Lexi Swim Up Suite (SWP) is larger than the Superior Double Rooms (approx. 43 sqm) with the same amenities. The rooms feature a terrace with access to the swim-up shared pool. The terrace has a dining table and two separate sun loungers. Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased risk for small children. Therefore, for safety reasons for children, schauinsland-reisen has a minimum age of 6 years for bookings of these room types.

Superior Double Room

The cheerfully furnished rooms (DSU, approx. 35 sqm) are equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone (for a fee), Wi-Fi, safe, minibar, and balcony or terrace. Also available for single use (DEU) or type B (DUB).

The unique dining concept offers breakfast from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM, lunch from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and dinner from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM in one of the hotel's three à la carte restaurants ("Lucina", "Gaia", "Yades"). As a Posh Club member (booked suite), you also have the option to enjoy your breakfast exclusively in the "Posh Club Lounge". Sparkling wine breakfast is included for you in all four restaurants. Additionally, dinner can also be taken in the buffet restaurant or in one of the eight different à la carte restaurants of the "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" (Mexican, Italian, Asian, Mediterranean, Steak, Diet & Light, Bedouin restaurants).
