Travel information

Combination package consisting of an MS Nile Excellence Nile cruise and a beach holiday, including all transfers between services. Accommodation at the hotel is always provided in the most favourable available room category. If the Nile cruise is booked first, the outbound flight must be to Luxor. If the hotel is booked first and the Nile cruise second, the return flight must be from Luxor.

Notice

The travel offer you have chosen has a duration of 10 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always for seven days according to the programme. The pre- and post-stay at the hotel depends on your arrival day and the embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel and harbour are included.

When booking the MS Nile Excellence, the following excursions are automatically included: Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo Temple and a visit to the High Dam in Aswan.

Morning, after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to the Hatshepsut Temple (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon trip to Edfu. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 3:
Morning cruise to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and visit to the Double Temple (1,2,3).
Cruise to Aswan, dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 4:
Morning after breakfast, visit to the Aswan High Dam (1,2,3).
Then visit to the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.

Early morning at 3:30 am, opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3), breakfast box is included.
Then back to Kom Ombo.

Breakfast on board. Then the ship continues to Esna. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 7:
Breakfast. Then you have the opportunity to visit the Edfu Temple (1,2,3).
Then the ship continues to Luxor.
Once there, you have the opportunity to visit the East Bank with the Luxor Temple (1,2,3) and the Karnak Temple (1,2,3). There is an opportunity for a sound and light show at the Karnak Temple (optional, can be booked on site).

Facilities

The MS Nile Excellence features a total of 30 modernly furnished exterior cabins, spread across several decks. The reception area is brightly and elegantly designed and includes a reception desk. Treat yourself to culinary delights in the main restaurant and enjoy the cool drinks served by the three bars on board. Furthermore, a small bazaar and a cosy reading corner are available. From winter 2024/25, the ship will feature a small gym, which is freely accessible to all guests on board. To make your holiday perfect, you can relax on the loungers on the sun deck or cool off in the pool and enjoy the dreamlike view of the landscape along the Nile.

Accommodation

Suite

The friendly furnished suites (S2) are approx. 24 m² and feature shower/WC, hairdryer, two single beds or one double bed, air conditioning (individually adjustable), minibar, safe, TV, telephone (for a fee), seating area and a French balcony.
Also bookable for single occupancy (1SA).

Royal Suite

The Royal Suites (RS) have the same facilities as the suites, but are larger (approx. 37 m²). The Royal Suites are located on the middle deck and upper deck.
In the Royal Suites, there is also a small table and two chairs on the balcony.

Single suites

The single suites (S1) are approx. 13 m² and otherwise equipped the same as the suites, but with only one single bed and no seating area.

Economy suite

The economy suites (S2Z) are slightly smaller (approx. 21 m²) with otherwise the same facilities as the suites, and possibly without a French balcony and without a seating area, but with a window that cannot be opened.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner as a buffet or set menu.

The beautiful hotel complex is located directly in the heart of Makadi Bay, next to the popular sister hotel "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" (HRG223). The holiday resort is located in the first row of the beach at the most beautiful snorkelling and diving spots of the bay, thus offering the opportunity to explore the breathtaking underwater world of the Red Sea directly from the gently sloping beach.
The city centre of Hurghada is approx. 37 km away. Hurghada Airport is approx. 32 km away.

Facilities

The schauinsland-reisen original hotel was built in an elegant bohemian style and has 240 rooms and suites spread across various building complexes. With its unique and high-quality dining concept, the hotel stands out in Egypt and offers you a choice of a total of three of its own à-la-carte restaurants ("Lucina" - international cuisine, "Gaia" - Italian cuisine and "Yades" - Greek cuisine) for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The à-la-carte restaurant "Posh Club Lounge" is exclusively available to Posh Club members and offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Additionally, guests of the "SUNRISE Tucana Resort Grand Select" have free use of the eight à-la-carte restaurants of the sister hotel "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" with a diverse selection for dinner. The Felucca, which offers fish and seafood, is available for a fee. Furthermore, a total of eight different bars are available. The "Posh Club Lounge" is only for Posh Club members. The Cohiba Bar (adults-only) is accessible to all guests and serves, among other things, imported alcoholic drinks from 6 pm to 1 am. In the spacious outdoor area of the hotel, there are three pools (heatable in winter). One is only usable by members of the Posh Club (adults-only pool). Lexi Swim Up Suite Poolview

The Lexi Swim Up Suite (SWP) is larger than the Superior double rooms (approx. 43 m²) with the same facilities. The rooms have a terrace with access to the swim-up communal pool. There is a dining table and two separate sun loungers on the terrace.
Rooms with direct access to the sharing pool do not have their own swimming supervision and pose an increased potential danger for small children and non-swimmers. The duty of supervision at the pool is therefore the responsibility of the guardians.

Superior double room

The friendly furnished rooms (DSU, approx. 35 m²) are equipped with shower/WC, hairdryer, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone (for a fee), Wi-Fi, safe, minibar and balcony or terrace.

Deluxe double room

The Deluxe double rooms (DD2) are larger (approx. 40 m²) with the same facilities as the Superior double rooms and feature garden views.

Junior suite garden view

The junior suites with garden view (JS2) are larger (approx. 43 m²) with the same facilities as the Superior double rooms and feature a terrace. Also bookable for single occupancy/with a child. (JS1/J1K)

The junior suites Jacuzzi (2JJ, approx. 36 m²) have the same facilities as the Superior double rooms, but with a private Jacuzzi outdoors on the terrace.

The junior suites Swim Up (SUJ) are more spacious (approx. 43 m²) with the same facilities as the Superior double rooms, featuring a small seating area and direct access to the swim-up communal pool.

The Executive suite Jacuzzi partial sea view (2XE) have the same facility elements as the Superior double rooms, are approx. 100 m² and consist of two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living/sleeping room. The rooms have either a balcony with Jacuzzi or an indoor Jacuzzi.

Executive Pool Suite

The Executive Pool Suite partial sea view (2SS) have the same facility elements as the Superior double rooms, are approx. 90-100 m² and consist of two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living/sleeping room. The rooms have a terrace with access to a private pool.

Premium All Inclusive

The unique dining concept offers you breakfast from 7-10:30 am, lunch from 1-4 pm and dinner from 7-10 pm in one of the hotel's three à-la-carte restaurants ("Lucina", "Gaia", "Yades"). As a Posh Club member (booked suite), you also have the possibility to have your breakfast exclusively in the "Posh Club Lounge". A sparkling wine breakfast is included for you in all four restaurants. Additionally, dinner can alternatively be taken in the buffet restaurant or in one of the eight different à-la-carte restaurants of the "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" (Mexican, Italian, Asian, Mediterranean, steak, diet and light, Bedouin restaurant). The à-la-carte restaurant "Lucina" is open as a snack bar around the clock for you (alcoholic drinks are not served between 6-10 am). The Felucca is for a fee.
