Travel Information

Combined product of a Nile cruise on the MS Nile Excellence and a beach holiday, including all intermediate transfers. Accommodation in the hotel will always be in the most favorable available room category. Embarkation is always on Thursdays. The trip must be started at least one day in advance, as an overnight stay beforehand is mandatory. The next possible embarkation will always be used.

Notice

The selected travel package has a duration of 14 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship always takes place for seven days according to the program. The pre- and post-stay at the hotel depends on your arrival day and embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and harbor are included.

MS Nile Excellence incl. Excursion

Route Description

When booking the MS Nile Excellence, the following excursions are automatically included: Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo Temple, and a visit to the High Dam in Aswan.
The excursion packages listed below can, of course, still be booked.

Day 1:
Arrival and embarkation. Visit to the Luxor Museum (3) in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
Day 2:
A hot air balloon ride is possible at 5 a.m. (optional, can be booked on site).
In the morning, after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to the Temple of Hatshepsut (1,2,3) with a visit to the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Sailing to Edfu in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 3:
Continue sailing to Kom Ombo in the morning.
Lunch on board and visit to the double temple (1,2,3).
Continue sailing to Aswan, dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 4:
In the morning, after breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam (1,2,3).
Then, visit the Temple of Philae by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon felucca ride on the Nile (1,2,3).
Then, visit a Nubian village (3).
Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 5:
In the early morning at 3:30 a.m., opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3), breakfast package included.
Then it's back to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board. Overnight stay and dinner on board.
Day 6:
Breakfast on board. The ship then continues to Esna. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 7:
Breakfast. You then have the opportunity to visit the Temple of Edfu (1,2,3).
The ship then continues to Luxor.
Upon arrival, you have the opportunity to visit the East Bank with the Luxor Temple (1,2,3) and Karnak Temple (1,2,3). There, you can take advantage of a sound and light show at Karnak Temple (optional, can be booked on site).

Departure.

Facilities

The MS Nile Excellence has a total of 30 modernly furnished outside cabins spread across several decks. The reception area is bright and elegantly designed and includes a reception desk. Enjoy culinary delights in the main restaurant and savor cool drinks served by the three bars on board. Furthermore, there is a small bazaar and a cozy reading corner available. Starting from Winter 2024/25, the ship will feature a small fitness studio, freely accessible to all guests on board. To make your vacation perfect, you can relax on the sun deck on the loungers or cool off in the pool while enjoying the fantastic view of the landscape along the Nile.

Accommodation

Suite

The cheerfully furnished suites (S2) are approximately 24 m² and feature a shower/toilet, hairdryer, two single beds or one double bed, air conditioning (individually adjustable), minibar, safe, TV, telephone (for a fee), seating area, and French balcony.
Also available for single occupancy (1SA).

Royal Suite

The Royal Suites (RS) have the same amenities as the suites but are larger (approx. 37 m²). The Royal Suites are located on the middle and upper decks.
On the balcony of the Royal Suites, there is also a small table and two chairs.

Single Suite

The Single Suites (S1) are approximately 13 m² and otherwise have the same amenities as the suites, but with only a single bed and no seating area.

Standard Suite

The Standard Suites (S2Z) are somewhat smaller (approx. 21 m²) with otherwise the same amenities as the suites, and may not have a French balcony and seating area, but rather a non-opening window.

The beautiful hotel complex is located directly in the heart of Makadi Bay, next to the popular sister hotel "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" (HRG223). The holiday resort is situated in the first row on the beach, at the most beautiful snorkeling and diving spots of the bay, offering the opportunity to explore the breathtaking underwater world of the Red Sea directly from the gently sloping beach.
The city center of Hurghada is approximately 37 km away. Hurghada Airport is approximately 32 km away.

Facilities

The schauinsland-reisen original hotel is built in an elegant Bohemian style and features 240 rooms and suites spread across various building complexes. With its unique and high-quality dining concept, the hotel stands out in Egypt, offering a choice of three in-house à la carte restaurants ("Lucina" - international cuisine, "Gaia" - Italian cuisine, and "Yades" - Greek cuisine) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The à la carte restaurant "Posh Club Lounge" is exclusively available to Posh Club members and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Additionally, guests of "SUNRISE Tucana Resort Grand Select" can use the eight à la carte restaurants of the sister hotel "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" free of charge, with a diverse selection in the evening. Lexi Swim Up Suite Poolview

The Lexi Swim Up Suite (SWP) is larger (approx. 43 m²) than the Superior Double Rooms with the same amenities. The rooms have a terrace with access to the shared swim-up pool. The terrace has a dining table and two separate sun loungers.
Rooms with direct pool/sea access pose an increased risk for small children.

Superior Double Room

The cheerfully furnished rooms (DSU, approx. 35 m²) are equipped with a shower/toilet, hairdryer, air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone (for a fee), Wi-Fi, safe, minibar, and a balcony or terrace.

The unique dining concept offers breakfast from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM, lunch from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and dinner from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM in one of the hotel's three à la carte restaurants ("Lucina", "Gaia", "Yades"). As a Posh Club member (booked suite), you also have the option to enjoy your breakfast exclusively in the "Posh Club Lounge". A sparkling wine breakfast is included for you in all four restaurants. Additionally, dinner can alternatively be enjoyed in the buffet restaurant or in one of the eight different à la carte restaurants of the "SUNRISE Royal Makadi Resort Select" (Mexican, Italian, Asian, Mediterranean, Steak, Diet & Light, Bedouin Restaurant).
