Travel information

Combination product featuring a Nile cruise on the MS Nile Excellence and a beach holiday, including all transfers in between. Accommodation at the hotel is always provided in the most affordable available room category. Embarkation always takes place on Thursdays. The trip must be started at least one day in advance, as an overnight stay beforehand is mandatory. The earliest possible embarkation will always be selected.

Notice

The travel package you have selected has a duration of 14 days and includes various individual services. Accommodation on the ship is always provided for seven days according to the program. The pre- and post-cruise stays at the hotel depend on your arrival day and the embarkation day. All transfers between the airport, hotel, and port are included.

Itinerary

When booking the MS Nile Excellence, the following excursions are automatically included: Valley of the Kings, Kom Ombo Temple, and a visit to the High Dam in Aswan.

Itinerary:
Day 1:
Arrival and embarkation. In the afternoon, visit the Luxor Museum (3). Dinner and overnight stay on board in Luxor.
Day 2:
At 5 a.m., a balloon flight is possible (optional, bookable on-site).
In the morning, after breakfast, excursion to Thebes-West to the Hatshepsut Temple (1,2,3) with a viewing of the Colossi of Memnon (1,2,3). Visit to the Valley of the Kings (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon sailing to Edfu. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 3:
Morning cruise to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board and visit to the Double Temple (1,2,3).
Cruise to Aswan, dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 4:
Morning after breakfast, visit to the Aswan High Dam (1,2,3).
Followed by a visit to the Philae Temple by motorboat (1,2,3). Lunch on board.
Afternoon felucca ride on the Nile (1,2,3).
Followed by a visit to a Nubian village (3).
Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 5:
Early morning at 3:30 a.m., opportunity for an excursion to Abu Simbel by bus (2,3), breakfast box is included.
Then return to Kom Ombo.
Lunch on board. Overnight stay and dinner on board.
Day 6:
Breakfast on board. Afterward, the ship continues to Esna. Dinner and overnight stay on board.
Day 7:
Breakfast. Afterward, you have the opportunity to visit the Edfu Temple (1,2,3).
Then the ship continues to Luxor.
Upon arrival, you have the opportunity to visit the East Bank with the Luxor Temple (1,2,3) and the Karnak Temple (1,2,3). There is an opportunity for a Sound and Light Show at the Karnak Temple (optional, can be booked on-site).
Day 8:
Departure.

Facilities

The MS Nile Excellence features a total of 30 modernly furnished outside cabins, distributed over several decks. The reception area is bright and elegantly designed and features a reception desk. Indulge your palate in the main restaurant and enjoy cool drinks served by the three bars on board. Furthermore, a small bazaar and a cozy reading corner are at your disposal. Starting winter 2024/25, the ship will feature a small gym, which is freely accessible to all guests on board. To make your holiday perfect, you can relax on the sun loungers on the sun deck, cool off in the pool, and enjoy the breathtaking view of the landscape along the Nile.

Suite

The friendly furnished suites (S2) are approx. 24 m² in size and feature a shower/WC, hairdryer, two single beds or one double bed, air conditioning (individually adjustable), minibar, safe, TV, telephone (for a fee), sitting area, and a French balcony.
Also bookable for single occupancy (1SA).

Royal Suite

The Royal Suites (RS) offer the same facilities as the suites but are larger (approx. 37 m²). The Royal Suites are located on the middle deck and upper deck.
The Royal Suites also include a small table and two chairs on the balcony.

Single suite

The single suites (S1) are approx. 13 m² in size and are otherwise equipped the same as the suites, but with only one single bed and no sitting area.

Economy suite

The economy suites (S2Z) are slightly smaller (approx. 21 m²) but have otherwise identical facilities to the suites; they may be without a French balcony and sitting area, featuring instead a non-opening window.

Breakfast includes soft drinks and hot beverages. Lunch and dinner include two soft drinks and a small bottle of water per person.

The Albatros Makadi Resort is located in the popular Makadi Bay. The Albatros Makadi Resort is only approx. 35 km from Hurghada International Airport. The hotel, in a prime location, sits directly on a 600-meter-long white sandy beach and offers the perfect conditions for swimming. The house reef directly offshore offers ideal opportunities and conditions for snorkeling to discover the beautiful and colorful underwater world of the Red Sea.

Facilities

The fully renovated resort features 869 spacious rooms, which are distributed among several buildings. Furthermore, the hotel is equipped with a cozy lobby and various shops. Culinary well-being is provided by six buffet restaurants and two snack restaurants (Asian, Oriental, Italian, Seafood, Steakhouse, etc.) as well as five bars.

Deluxe double room sea view

The deluxe double rooms are identical in size and equipment to the deluxe double rooms with sea view, but do not have a sea view (DD2/DD3/1DD). Additionally bookable with orientation towards the seaside (X2M/X1M) or with garden view (DDA).

Splash room aqua park view

The rooms (HD2) are approx. 106 m² in size and consist of two rooms with a connecting door (one bedroom with king-size bed and one with twin beds). The rooms feature two bathrooms with shower, air conditioning, satellite TV, safe, coffee/tea maker, dressing area, minibar (daily water free of charge), and a spacious balcony with a view of the Aqua Park.
